Ya know, I have never pre-ordered a DVD, but this collector's set will be the first time. I honestly gotta say that I have never been so excited about a DVD release as I am with this one.

Wow, thanks for posting the cover, Evil Dead Guy... that's just gorgeous. This set will be mine. :)

  4. Your welcome there RyanPC, defently one of the most anticipated titles of the year i would say.

Wow I forgot about this getting a release. I wish the Kong dvd packaged with Mighty Joe Young and Son of Kong had the souvenir program. I'll probably get the tin and the other 2 movies seperately. I love the covers.

Looks like Paramount is re-releasing the 1976 King Kong on November 22, the same release date as the 1933 Kong not coincidentally. No word on extras but I suspect it's the exact same version as the original DVD but with new cover art. The cool, original movie poster art is gone probably due to the fact that Kong's straddling the WTC towers...

Sure, it's not the best movie by a long shot, but I still like it! ;)

There is suppose to be an uncut work print with tons new footage including teh long version of the kong snake fight, but I don't think this is that :(
I hope it has extras but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I don't believe that workprint exists. Lots of rumors about this title (including snakepit footage), but no-one seems to have ever actually seen it. I expect, apart from hi-def, no release will better what we're about to get.

Ah, I see it's not a workprint but the television versions which had all the extra stuff. My mistake.

Still, that would be fun to see. I'll pick it up if it has both versions; otherwise, I'll wait a while.

Cripes. sorry mate. I thought you were talking about the 1931 version. Turns out it's the 1976 one. My bad. I have no interest in that one, and therefore, no info :D
