The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is in my Top 5 favorite films of all time, so unsurprisingly it gets my vote. Bad Ronald is a great little movie too!

Damn, I completely forgot about this , thanks for bringing it up Paff. I think TCM would still get my vote, but having BC on the list would have made my decision a hell of a lot harder!

Man, Bad Ronald scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. I remember spending an entire afternoon looking for holes in the walls.

But for predictable old me, the clear choice is Texas Chainsaw.

    THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE.

Probably one of the best horror movies all time. This movie changed the face of horror cinema forever.

LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE aka THE LIVING DEAD AT THE MANCHESTER MORGUE

  18. It was difficult for me to choose between "LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE" and "THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE"
    Both are classics.
I don't think a movie such as "ILSA" belongs to this list.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is clearly the best. But I think Deranged is also a true masterpiece and almost good enough to be best of the year... although it was really made over a year prior to its' release. Some say '72, some say '74. I think '73 is a good way to split the difference. Also, It's Alive is a really great movie too.

Seeing as though Texas Chainsaw Massacre is running away with this thing (and rightly so), I'll go against the grain and vote for Larry Cohen's It's Alive.
