I'm not sure how this list is being concocted but it seems like it's mostly horror (not sure what Communion is doing there).

1989 in horror was rather weak. Dead Calm
is the best film in that list.

    Followed by these:
The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover
    Pet Sematary
    Parents
    Shocker
    Vampire's Kiss
    The Toxic Avenger Part II

I also have a few guilty pleasures in form of Deep Star Six, Leviathan and The Fly II.

Yeesh, whatta year. Sundown is on the list for this week, but other than that, I'd go with Pet Sematary, a successful King adaptation--and one of his most effective stories. Really creepy stuff. Of course, my enjoyment of the film is boosted by South Park lampooning of it over several episodes.

Totally didn't see that there. How the fuck did I miss that!? :eek2:

I still pick Dead Calm though, that's a terrific film. But yes, Santa Sangre is a treasured gem as well. Haven't seen it in like ten years, but Jodorowsky is a legend, and I love all his films (though I haven't seen Tusk or The Rainbow Thief).
