Another vote for Duel. Dennis Weaver was excellent in the lead role.

Without a doubt, the best film in this genre is Robert Harmon's 1986 classic "The Hitcher!" Three stellar performances from eighties icons, atmosphere to spare, and oodles of subtext make this one really click. Oh, and it's fucking terrifying!!!

Hitch-Hike with David Hess. The ultimate raw nature and brutality is proving worth.

Just watched The Hitcher a couple nights ago and it easily gets my vote. Fantastic atmosphere and Rutger is in top form, as well as Howell. Awesome stuff!

I would have to go with the Hitcher. Whenever I think about picking up someone that is hitchhiking, that movie always comes to mind and I keep going.

I'm not original on this one and I will go with DUEL. I love the way Spielberg makes the truck the monster of the movie. In fact, Duel is really a monster movie in my mind.

Honorable mention to Grindhouse with the Tarantino segment.

I'm a sucker for Joy Ride. That movie came out seven years ago, and a few friends of mine and I still imitate Ted Levine's "Rusty Nail" voice.

My personal runner-up would be the remake of The Hitcher, because Sean Bean rules. (And I'll admit it, I've never seen the original Hitcher. Shame on me.)

    Wella Hello!!!

So many people to thank. First I'd like the make a call out to the folks at the academy, and then little Jojo - really couldn't have done it without him. And then there's my girl Betty - we did it baby!

    Thanks!
