Oct. 1 Return of the living dead
Oct. 2 Dario Argento's Opera
1st: Enemy Mine - not horror, but very good none the less
1st: Cube - Ok, I'm starting with horror on the second day of october
Ugh...too busy studying, but I did manage to catch a few minutes of NIGHT on Encore last night--I'm wanting to save that one for Halloween itself, though.
October 1st: Just Before Dawn
Not sure what I will be watching today. But, I am going to see Serentity this morning.
Missed out last night, too much work to be done.
But I made up for it first thing the morning: James Whale's FRANKENSTEIN (1931)
I will try to watch at least two more horror flicks tonight to catch up!
Sony's cover art for The Boogeyman might be horrible but hey, so is the movie I totally forgot how campy and hilarious this film was - good stuff!
The Boogeyman is indeed presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks excellent.
Ok dammit now is the new Boogeyman dvd anamorphic or not? According to DVD Talk it isn't http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=17792 :hum:
So far I have watched
The Candy Snatchers
I plan on sticking with Universal Classics and gothic horror all this month, that's more along the true spirit of Halloween to me. The TRUE classics.
10/1 - The Invisible Man Returns (1940)
Vincenct Price wears the googles and gause in this restrained Universal Classic. This time around Mr. Invisible isn't a scientist but a good guy framed for murder. The SFX are once again excellent even if the subject matter is treated much more with kid gloves.
I may watch the NIGHT remake tonight...or else one of the Universals.
Cool idea, I'll start my log:
Oct 1st: Audition
Oct 2nd: H.P. Lovecraft's Shunned House
Oct 3rd: Dr Moreau's House of Pain (boy does it suck!)
Oct 3rd: Horrific
Oct 4th: Dark Water
Oct 5th: Opera
Oct 6th: Trick or Treat
Oct 7th: Deranged
October 2: Girls Nite Out
First time ever watching this. Great, fun slasher. Glad I blind bought it.
Edit: I got back from playing hockey and watched Intruder. I was actually enjoying this inspite of the flaws in logic and timing. But I'm not too crazy about the ending. Still worth owning though.
I didn't plan it but Friday the 13th Part 2 was on one of my movie channels last night so I watched that. (It's one of my faves).
Normally I'd watch football tonight but no way I'm wasting brain cells watching ARI and SF so I'm going to watch Suspiria, first viewing.
Damn, tonight was one of those nights every DVD collector dreads. Received a defective copy of Just Before Dawn, a couple of months back. Amazon promptly sent a replacement that played flawlessly...at first. Popped it in tonight and sure enough freezing!! Virtually the same flaw that my original defective disc exhibited. Nothing worse than waiting for years to see a film you loved as a kid and then falling victim to shitty dvd syndrome. Oh well, hope I have better luck with tomorrow's selection-I am leaning towards The Fog or Evil Dead 2.
I aborted my plan of Suspiria due to lack of brain power tonight and opted for something lighter in Chopping Mall.
Thank you. Have a nice day!
All I can say is my Boogeyman copy IS anamorphic and looks good on my rear projector. Return Of The Boogeyman on side B is listed as full screen, but I haven't popped that one in yet to confirm.
Billy if I buy this and you are wrong there is gonna be hell to pay.
heh I'm not lying - just believe me It's odd because they only mention Widescreen but not 16:9. When I started the movie I was about to change my TV settings for non-anamorphic viewing, but I noticed right away it was anamorphic!
I continued my Full Frame Fright Fest with CHOPPING MALL and "Simpon's Treehouse of Horror II" and a Season One "Twilight Zone" episode.
Life Is Good.
