the nightmares seem more 'old school'. Boiler rooms and sheep. I liked what I saw in those clips.

Is it just me or do those clips make the movie look horrible and cheap?

I'll be checking this out but the acting looks sub-subpar... shit, it's bad. The dream sequences look cool, though. I'm sure that it will be cheesy as hell and a lot of fun.

I'm still in, although those clips weren't all that great.

    Thanks for the link though.

Clips seemed to be standard for the more recent New Line Freddy/Jason outings...and that's not really a good thing (except for New Nightmare, which was pretty cool). I think it will be fun though. I hope it captures at least some of the magic of the early Friday the 13th series. This feels more like Elm St. all the way. I know it's New Line's baby, but I hope it has some balance.

I've seen a few trailers for this (in the theatre and on TV already), to be honest it doesn't look special yet. Doesn't look bad either but hell.

I'm excited for this movie, but it seems to be all about Freddy. I have a feeling Jason is going to take a backseat to Freddy's oneliners. Which is sad for me, being the huge Jason fan that I am.

Might just be me, but who the hell cares if Kane Hodder plays Jason? It's just a big guy in a lot of make up with no lines, anybody could play him. Hodder milks that junk far too much, he played him in what? four out of 11 movies? Who cares, it's not like he brought a new found life into the character. Honestly, the studio could cast anybody.

At least Robert England always played Kruger, has lines, and brings something to the character.

Just because you can't see his face or hear him talk doesn't mean that anyone could play him.

Why? Kane Hodder isn't a master of mime or anything. Jason isn't exactly the hardest role to play. You walk, and kill people. That's it, any guy over six foot three that dosen't mind a few hours of makeup a day could play that role.

I have to jump in and disagree. Sure it would seem like this on the surface, but it's below the suface that a great character is made. Just the slight, almost un-noticable posture and posing of the body can make or break a performance in this case.
My prime example, watch Halloween 1 and then 2 back to back. Different actor, different Michael! Gone are all the cool little gestures and posture that made Michael so cool in the first. He looked almost confused at what he was doing and you could almost feel him trying to figure it out (esp. when he knifed that dude into the kicthen door, then just stared at him with that little head tilt). He was acting like he had a purpose in part 2, and while it's subtile, it still affected the outcome of the performance IMO.
That said, Kane had Jason down.
    Kane was/IS Jason!

I'm going to have to out and out disagree. I think Michael Myers and Jason are two completley different bags. William Castle did an amazing job of playing meyers in the first Halloween (the head tilt admiration of his work being a prime example) but Meyers was always an out and out better character than Jason VOrheers.

there was never and has never been any subtleties to Jason, Meyers became that way in the sequals, but didn't start off that way. Jason went from being a retard to a zombie retard, and anybody could do that.
