Some of the one's you've mentioned like The Hills Have Eyes and Black Christmas are actually from the 70s. It's also very debatable that The Hills Have Eyes can be called a slasher film. I'm of the opinion that it isn't. This is a good idea for a forum topic, but we should divide them all into the years they came out. The only one I can think of that hasn't been mentioned yet is CHRISTMAS EVIL, but I don't remember which year it came out. Oh, and HOSPITAL MASSACRE and PIECES. SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE was another...

Yeah when I added The Hills Have Eyes I wasn't sure if it actually fell under the slasher category or not.Its a movie thats a little tricky to define what it actually is LOL Its kind of the same with Christmas Evil.I can't believe I forgot about Slumber Party Massacre though. There's another movie I saw years ago called American Gothic that I'm not sure if it could be considered a slasher movie either. It has all the elements of a slasher movie though.

I don't know about some of those FulciZombieFan. Maybe we need to define "Slasher"?

A Blade in the Dark I'd say is a giallo, not a slasher. Same for Delirium. Funhouse isn't a slasher in my book either. Is Pieces really a slasher? And Unhinged?

What are we using as a definition here? When I look at the list, it looks like anything with a murder in it :D

Here's what I think should be the defintion of a slasher movie: Threadbare plot, body count at least 80% female, killer is masked and human, kills made with piercing weapons, and the movie MUST start off with a flashback. If you don't know about the last one, think about it. All the good one's have them:

    Halloween
    Friday the 13th
    My Bloody Valentine
    The Prowler
    Pieces
    Hospital Massacre
    Sleepaway Camp
    Graduation Day
    Prom Night

Those are off the top of my head. I'm sure the list goes on..

Vdlman is Blood Lake the one where a bunch of friends go to a cottage on a lake only to be killed off by this over-weight bearded guy?If its the one I saw it also looked like it was shot on a camcorder LOL
