Tough call for me,I saw them in their first runs and really liked them all. Guess I'd go with NEAR DARK(its' gritty),then THE LOST BOYS (a time capsule of the 80s) and then FRIGHT NIGHT (always loved Roddy McDowall). All great fun, though !

when i originally saw these movies, Lost Boys would have been my favourite. but now that I'm older and wiser (and seen how well these movies have aged) my list is:
    1. Near Dark (still an awesome film!)
    2. Lost Boys (Nostalgia)
    3. Fright Night (Only loses by default)

hard decision though because I have loved all of these films since the first times i saw them.

  5. Damn, I'm torn! I guess mine would have to be as follows...

    1. Lost Boys
    2. Fright Night
    3. Near Dark

Mmm hard choice between Lost Boys and Fright Night but I went with Lost Boys. Near Dark is boring.

I votted for Fright Night although I think it is just as enjoyable as Lost Boys, I haven't seen Near Dark so I couldn't figure that one in. I found Fright Night to be more atmospheric than Lost Boys and that's why I gave it to Fright Night. These being vampire movies I figure the atmosphere should be somewhat creepy and Lost Boys doesn't really effect me in that manner.

NEAR DARK is one of the greatest vampire movies ever made--FRIGHT NIGHT is lots of fun, but LOST BOYS is just too dated and Brat-Packy. I never really liked it even at the time.

    1. Lost Boys
    2. Fright Night
    3. Near Dark

I found Near Dark to be kinda boring and the only part i really like would have to be the bar scene.

Fright Night, followed by Lost Boys and then Near Dark. However, I must say that I love them all.

I love all of them. I have all of them on DVD, and I have the complete CD soundtrack to Fright Night.

I like Fright Night. The Lost Boys is too MTV, and is directed by the hairdresser who wrote THE WIZ. That said, I guess it could be worse. I haven't seen it in a long time, but I remember the vamps dying way to easily. As for Near Dark, anything with Bill Paxton can't all be bad. Wait! Yes it could!!! Pass.

Well, there's no accounting for taste. Personally, I think he's just a poor man's "Treat Williams". :)

that's for sure. going down williams' imdb list all i know him from is that jerk from that terrible movie, deep blue sea. anywho, bill paxton has appeared in a bunch of flicks that are great because of him. i like all his characters he plays like chet from weird science and in aliens he pulls the role of comic relief i guess but i love Hudson. then move on to the vagrant i love this film! all paxton....and not to mention that he directed frailty and thats a great one too. the commentary on the disc is excellent. you can have your classy high brow treat williams. i'll stick with the master, bill paxton.
