HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW!! Yes! I missed out on the Scorpion release and I'm not paying outrageous prices for a blu-ray mastered on a BD-25.

Understandable. I owned two copies and put one up for auction on Ebay. It sold for a significantly higher amount than I had originally paid for it.

Assuming that the 88 Films disc is BD-50, could we conceivably expect a quality jump in the technical presentation, even if 88 is using the same transfer?

Same here. It won't be terribly long after it's listed on Amazon UK that we see a price drop too. Less than what the Scorpion release was selling for while still in print.

I'd say so. If they're using BD-50s there'd be less compression (that is, if they're taking advantage of that extra space).

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I'm open to upgrading both The Toolbox Murders and The House on Sorority Row, then. I really like both to the extent that I want the best version available. Still, it would be nice to see 88 Films digging up some more stuff on their own and not riding the coattails of other companies so much.

I'm pretty excited about a non-Code Red option for Slaughterhouse Rock! I've never seen it, but it's one of those vhs covers I remember from my youth. I'll be picking that up for sure!

I appreciate what your saying but you have to remember code red stuff has such limited releases it makes it difficult for us over the pond to get a copy, so for me it's great these are getting a release in Europe even better it's the UK, for a small island we have a lot of quality output.

I own 16 of these titles and half of the others on blu-ray from other companies.

I'll double dip on Sweet Sixteen if they include the DVD commentary. Hell, I may double dip on it even if it doesn't.

I'm over the pond as well. I've used Screen Archives, Diabolikdvd, and reshipping. Last method is pricy, so I've only used it on a couple of occasions.

Just reading about the movie and read this:

"The film also offers up some good gore effects as long as you're watching the uncut version. Apparently the director went back and edited out some gore and nudity when he was running for office (?!?!?) so be sure you get the complete version."

Anybody have any info on the version 88 will be offering?

Hoping it's region free or a US company goes for it. It's not a very good movie, but it has its charms. It's not even a killer clown movie like the cover sells it to be, if I remember correctly. I'd be game to buy a blu-ray.

Speaking of, is there a comparison online between 88 and Severin's releases of Drive-In Massacre? I have 88's disc, just wondering if Severin's disc is better.

For years I had an extremely vague recollection of catching part of Blood Harvest on cable as a teenager. I didn't know the title and remembered so little that I figured I would never identify it, but when I saw the movie again a few years ago it all came flooding back to me. It's always exhilarating when that happens.

Obviously I somehow didn't recall Tiny Tim appearing as a demented clown, because that would have narrowed down my search pretty fucking quickly.

I'd be surprised if this isn't uncut, I've seen the edited Retromedia DVD and it would be a waste of time releasing that version. BCI/Deimos released it uncut and in widescreen on the OOP and impossibly rare Crypt of Terror: A Collection of Nightmares 4-film set, I've had my eye out for years and have only seen it pop up a couple of times on eBay for big bucks, so I'm rather stoked this is coming to Blu-ray.

I do own that BCI/Deimos set. I knew it was long OOP...but didn't realize it was that rare. I bought it for $10 when it first came out.

The few I saw on eBay each went for around $100 used, and I've seen it once from an Amazon marketplace seller for $150.

Even though I already have the Code Red disc, I kind of want to rebuy Happy Hell Night just for the Jorja Fox interview! Anyone have it yet? Is it worth it?
