This is supposed to have more cuts though I've heard. Lloyd apparently removed things that "were never supposed to be in the final cut" or something.

Mine shipped form Amazon UK a few days ago, so I should be able to tell soon if that's true.

    It's the "R rated" version.
Really with Toxie 2/3 I had no idea which of the many "director's cuts" would make it to HD.

I can't possibly see how this cut of TA3 is the one he prefers... I watched the BD earlier this week, and all the gore scenes are completely missing. I'd argue that the gore scenes are the film's raison d'être, and without them, the film is pretty pointless and ineffective.

Omg Dead of Winter. Day 1.

    I love being region-free.

Dead Of Winter. Slasher? Really? Hmm... seems like a stretch. I'd rather they release something else from MGM like Killer Party or Moon In Scorpio.

I've never seen Dead of Winter, but considering I have NEVER seen it on a slasher list for the 80s, I find it sort of a cheap to advertise it as such. But it's cool that it's coming out just the same.

In my opinion, it's not a slasher movie. To be honest, even if you approach it as a horror film, you still might be disappointed. It's more of a simple little thriller.

That said, it does have some slasher-esque moments, and it's definitely a fun and atmospheric little film. I'll pick it up when it hits region A, but in the meantime I still have my MGM DVD.

Wow, I was okay with Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers being locked because we've got the Retromedia release, but now I'm kind of disappointed. :(

This is why I always wait to see what 88 Films is doing with their region B release before I commit to the region A counterpart. They kicked Vinegar Syndrome's ass with the Graduation Day release and now they've kicked Retromedia's ass with this release. Most people have been waiting for this as a standalone release and 88 Films includes it as an extra! Thank God I'm region free.

I thought 88 films missed some key extras from the VS release.

They did, but they added their own special features including the feature-length Scream Queens documentary.

Killer Party was original an MGM theatrically distributed title, but Warner Bros. seems to have video rights.

It was a title that Turner bought from their MGM catalog buyout back in the 80's, and then it reverted to Warner when they later bought Turner.

Even if it is unlockable, the Linnea Quigley's Horror Workout will be in standard definition, so make sure that your player / TV can support PAL.

Dr. Calum Waddell? Give me a break. But, excluding his involvement, the releases sound great.

If of you are not region free just get the cheap Orei blu ray player from bombay electronics. I've had mine for 2 years it's a beast and I love it! Plus they got a ton of region free players dirt cheap.

    Yeah pretty lame completely agree!
