The campaign just passed 28,000 with nearly 15 days left. Only 12,000 more to go for all four titles. Keep spreading the word. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/88-films-italian-collection-restoration-project--2#/
I saw this update today: "We've got some exciting new news to tell you about when we hit £30,000, watch this space!" Wonder what it could be Maybe an upgrade to 4K? Or maybe an additional title, or extras?
Thats hit we just hit £30K lads. Final push now to get that last £10k and get Beyond the Darkness sorted.
They are both the same cut I believe, the Grindhouse version is just a beat-up 35mm print scan they added as a bonus if you wanted to watch it warts and all. http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film5/blu-ray_reviews_72/burial_ground_blu-ray.htm
Kentai's did a blog on it and it looks like they're mostly the same: http://www.kentaiblog.com/?zx=4a039ddd62c1629c Just that one's essentially a raw transfer of a single source with no clean up, and the other has been cleaned up and perhaps utilized other better footage for different pieces. He points out one scene where there's slightly more footage on the Grindhouse print (not censorship related) so there may be other trims here and there that make them different.
Thank you MorallySound and X-human! I read quite a few reviews, but none clearly explained the content differences between the two cuts. Thank God this site still exists. It's still the quickest way to get reliable info about stuff like this.
Looks like i'll be donating again; Oh and we are up to £35,965 now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111
Being pessimistic as well as cheap, I waited to make sure this would work out. Donated! I'm looking forward to all 4 Blu-rays.
Congratulations to 88 Films and to all who contributed!!!!! Well done. I wish I would've been able to donate again to get the 2 extra slips but I didn't know how. Clicking on the indiegogo link on 88's page just took me to a partial page. Anyhoo, the deed is done
Holy shit! These last 24 hrs have been insane I was a bit worried, that they wouldn't reach the 40.000 goal, when things slowed down to a crawl, a few days back. Wouldn't surprise me, if they reach 50.000.
Fantastic, looking forward to receiving these. Can't believe how quickly it got to final goal, I'm sure it was on 32,000 earlier today when I looked, obviously a lot of people holding out to make sure they would be getting all the perks.
Nearly 60K now and there have been a few new perks added. I've actually done three of them already. Only 5 more days to go. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/88-films-italian-collection-restoration-project--2#/
I personally haven't donated to this campaign, but stumbled across this opinion piece yesterday that echoes some of my views towards it: http://zombiehamster.com/blog/opinion/absurd-cautionary-look-88-films-crowdfunder/
