That is one of the best Blurays out there. I personally have not seen it until the blu and loved it. So I have many viewings left for this film. For the fact that it is such a solid release is the icing on the cake as well.

Really happy that they reached their goal :)
Can´t wait to see what the movie looks like, with a brand new transfer, directly from the negatives.

Maybe something Blue-Underground could try as well, since it´s obvious that their italian "transferred from the original negatives" releases, have been bullshit for a long time.

I´m glad that new companies like this pops up, that are not satisfied with slapping an old lackluster transfer on a disc.

Gonna help out and add more money to the project, and let´s hope Burial Ground gets the funding as well :)

Wow I definatly need these two!! I can't really see Anthro getting through the BBFC with the foetus eating scene intact though which would make a Blu ray release of this pointless but you never know. In any case it is good news and i'm sure they'll be worthy upgrades over my old Shriek Show DVDs. ;)

    From the 88films store:

"88 Films is proud to present ANTHROPOPHAGOUS, fully uncut and uncensored, and re-mastered for its worldwide HD debut!"

So I guess BBFC didn´t mind that... "tasty" scene :D

Awesome. The only negative is the stupid region locking. I'm region free but lately my player has been acting up, refusing to play region B stuff even after I change the code. It's such a fucking hassle. Off topic but I gotta ask - does anyone recommend Bombay Electronics for region-free players? Thinking of buying the modified Oppo but only if the modification is permanent. I want to completely do away with changing codes manually every time I want to watch a foreign disc.

I bought the Sony 5200 recommended in this thread and like it. The remote isn't great and it can be a bit sluggish but it plays everything I throw at it. I wish it had the 1.5FFW that my ps3 has. You only have to hold one of the colored buttons to changed the BD region code. You don't have to bother changing the region for DVDs. The BD laser died in mine and Bombay quickly sent me a new drive. When I needed a firmware update they got that for me as well. I'd like to hear your opinion on the Oppo after you get it. I might upgrade in a year or so.

I don't think that there are any players that will automatically detect a BD region and switch to it for you. The closest is a HTPC with AnyDVD HD running, but this will only work for older discs. Newer discs are enhanced so that it can't detect the region and it will give you a popup asking what region to use every time you put one in.

I have a region free Sony player that I leave set to region B and just use my PS4 for region A discs.

Damn, that HD transfer sure have been contrast boosted a bit too much.
Compare the shots when the girls are smoking in the train.
In the DVD transfer you can see the landscape outside the window, on the HD transfer, it´s almost blown out.

The transfer has some of that LVR scanner noise, typical of those early italian BD transfers, but it´s pretty mild, compared to some of those other transfers.
    So still a worthy upgrade.

Here is a shot from the new Zombie Holocaust transfer.
Still work in progress, but this is a revelation compared to the horrible Shriek Show disc.
Great amount of finedetails and natural filmgrain :)
