I honestly can't tell one sequel from the next after BLOODLINE, but REVELATIONS was the only one I didn't bother finishing. Of course, I'll give any installment a fair shake because you never know...but I'm not going to get "excited" about it until I see the finished product. There's just no point yet.

I liked it more than some of the others too but it's still a dreadful Hellraiser movie.

    Both Deader and Hellworld sucked.

Why can't they just let this series die? These tiny DTV sequels can't be making them that much of a profit, can they?

That or put some actual money towards a theatrical remake. I wouldn't think the DTV movies make them much profit either.

Could it be that the original still makes enough money that to let the copyright expire would cost more than hiring the Best Grip to shoot a cheap sequel?

Considering their small budget, they probably do. But the real reason is that the studio keeps the rights to the series as it's stated in their contract that a movie has to be made in a specific set of time or they relapse back to Barker.

Worse than Inferno and Hellseeker? Yes. But not worse than all of either (especially the last 35 minutes of Inferno). Trust me, that counts for something. When it comes to Hellraiser sequels... it counts.

    So did Inferno.

    So did Hellseeker.

    So did Bloodline.

    So did Hellbound.

Hell on Earth is the only entertaining sequel.

Yeah I know it's a Fantastic Four situation, but this is taking it to the extreme. It's like keeping someone terminally ill and in agonizing pain alive just enough so you can say they're alive, but you know they would be better off and rather would be dead.

It has to be a small sum gain based on pre-sales or something.

Perfect metaphor for this particular franchise Grim. :) "We have such things to show you!" We just don't want to see them.

That's embarrassing, I should have known that. It's obviously been too long since I've watched the films. I need to sit down and watch the Scarlet Box already.

Don't sweat it man. Not everyone can be a know it all troll like DVD fan 9.

    ...

As for Hellraiser: Judgement the new Pinhead has been revealed to be actor Paul T. Taylor.

    This is him:

He's been in stuff like Sin City and Super.

The last guy from Revelations was pretty bad (although I refuse to call him names like the clown at Bloody Digusting likes to do) but I'm hoping for the best with this one (and fearing for the worse)

Things, sights, it's all the same :) You should check out the films in the Scarlet Box though, the transfers are amazing!

As for the new Pinhead, I'm actually surprised with the guy they got. He's been in bigger films than I was expecting. I thought they'd have some no name like with Revelations. His look seems good for the part as well. He has a more drawn face so he shouldn't look fat in makeup like the actor before him. Let's just hope they don't give Pinhead some new stupid look for this.

I enjoy reading news info even if I have zero interest. As for Hellraiser I only seen up to Bloodlines. I have never seen the sequels and I doubt I ever will. I agree with Matt just let this series die already.

The problem for me with the series is it has become so formulaic. Pinhead is not scary. The original was so perverse and boundary pushing. The filmmakers are no longer trying to make that kind of film. They just replicate the vague beats of a Hellraiser film with little actual vision or passion.

By far the first one is the best. I believe when I watched all of them during Halloween, I noticed they started to break down after the second one. I didn't like that one as much as the original. It was a bit too surreal towards the end and I remember not liking some of the designs like the hospital. But after that I can't think of a really good entry. Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street have many bad entries but they have a few goods ones too. And even the bad ones are fun at times like Friday the 13th Part 8 or Nightmare on Elm Street Part 4. I guess that's why I was looking forward to Clive Barker's true remake not what's coming out.

Clever. For a guy who looks like he swallowed Kevin James whole.
