Here are screenshots for three different releases of Absurd including a screenshot for Mya's forthcoming DVD. The first image is from the German DVD release, the second is from a full frame VHS release and the third screenshot is from the Mya DVD release.

Outstanding. I always liked this, even though it steals the plot of Halloween II and George Eastman has Wolverine's healing power.

Does anyone know if they're going to change the cover? I know it's called Horrible, but that doesn't mean the whole damn package has to look the part.

Wow that screenshot looks REALLY promising!

I hope they go with the "Absurd" title and change that god-awful cover art.. Like I stated previously: No one except those who live in France know this film under the title "Horrible". It could actually affect their sales if they release it under that title!

Agreed, the disc looks great! I'm glad those screenshots got posted here, I was actually considering buying the Astro DVD release but now I'm going to hold off. I watched my Zombie 6: Monster Hunter VHS this weekend and the VHS screenshot here actually makes my copy look even worse by comparison!

I agree that the box/case art is utterly wretched and boring. They should use something like X-rated Kult's VHS. It's gorgeous. I like the Wizard Video box too, even though it has absolutely nothing to do with the movie. Still, it's MUCH better than the one they are using.

BTW, does anyone know what you call the job(?) of making "movie boxes?" I bought some Memorex blank DVD case sleeves that had a program (which was downloaded off the net, I think) where you can create cases. I had a house fire and was able to salvage some of my DVDs but not some of the cases, so I made them new ones. The replacements I made were much better looking than the horrible "Horrible" art, and it was acually kind of fun.

wow, 2009 has been great for Region 1 horror DVD releases:
    My Bloody Valentine UNCUT
    Friday the 13th UNCUT
    Slaughter High
    Four Flies on Grey Velvet

    and soon to come:

it needs the blue backround w/ the axe on it, under the title Absurd :D

we should try emailing them to change the title and the cover.
