I know this is kinda unrelated, but is Shriek Show's Anthropophagus DVD cut?

I kinda want to buy them together since I haven't seen either of them.....

Which version do you have? Is it a PAL disc?

The night I got Anthropophagus in the mail, I sat down at the kitchen table with my laptop and had it beside me. I poured some pop into one of those freezer glasses. I looked back up and lo and behold, the freezer cup had cracked and leaked all its liquid onto the table... and ruined the outside of the packaging. Life's a bitch, huh?

Oh, that just sucks Rhett. I have it and it really is one of the nicest DVD covers I own. Not to rub it in or anything, haha.

Mine was creased in the mail. I'm a bit of perfection freak so I was less than happy.
It was just jammed into my letterbox too, so I'm guessing that didn't help the matter.

It's... OK. Worth a watch for sure. It's definitely not Joe D'amato's worst film, but that's not saying much lol. It does contain a few cringe inducing scenes. To be honest though, it is rather boring for the first 45 min or so.

    Personally, I prefer Absurd/Horrible/Anthropophagus 2 much more.

Anthropophagus isn't the best of films but it's certainly got its moments. There's some great locations, nifty gore and a nice European feel to it. I say give it a watch.

it's good but very slow moving

Like everyone else said, it is worth the watch. D'Amato really sets up a sense of dread in this one...the atmosphere is pretty tense...

Other than that, it was pretty hyped up because of the two notorious gore scenes being cut in most releases...

That said, I own three copies of Anthro...:) And my band based our last albums artwork from the film...so I guess it had some big impact on me...lol

Absurd was decent as well. Lot more faster paced...plays out more like a Slasher flick...

I have always liked this one. I used to have the cheap Edde Entertainment VHS under the title Zombie 6: Monster Hunter. Very excited to finally have this on DVD.
