i have the dutch gravedancers dvd. It is a longer cut than the american release, sort of like the convent. I think the us version is the approved version thhough. i liked gravedancers, weak beggining, but good by the middle

I am interested in a few of these. Dark ride sounds interesting also penny dreadful and some others might be decent. I saw where they are releasing a box set of these DVDs, but it was exepensive. I think it said it would retail for around $130. I think that is a little steep for 7 movies (I thought it would be 8 movies since the tagline was "8 movies to die for", but supposedly Lionsgate is releasing one of them theatrically on a larger scale than the horrorfest). I hope the price comes out to be a little cheaper than what I heard, otherwise I'll just buy/rent a few.

Thank you for the heads-up. I've been waiting for these. But I am very disappointed that these are getting single-disc releases, as I do not think they warrant that kind of purchase.

    :fucked:

Exactly. These should all be released as double-feature DVDs and sold in a box-set for $40. I can't justify full-price single DVDs for films that are iffy to begin with. So, it's to Netflix I go.

My sister saw Reincarnation and did not recommend it.

DDD looks like they will have them for around $12 which isn't bad, but I would rather get them all together in a set, but I am not about to pay what they are supposedly going to ask for the set.

I have that on import DVD. I need to see it again to get a real feel for it...it's a step above the usual "scary girl" movie, and sure has some interesting ideas. But it doesn't stray far enough from the path to really stand out from other films of it's ilk.

I cant wait. I have wanted to see these for a while. Which film is Lionsgate releasing theatrically? I definitely am glad they arent doing double features. I hate any kind of double feature DVD. Plus these aren't short films like the Masters of Horror series.

I think it is "Abandoned" that is getting a wider release theatrically, I think I read that on bloody-disgusting or something...

i have the dutch gravedancers dvd and it was the same version as i saw in theaters. it was a decent film. dark ride was cool, penny dreadful had a very strong start but fell incredibly flat the last 45-60 minutes. i didn't see any of the other films though.

DVD Empire has just listed the box set for pre-order at $110.49 which is too much considering that you can buy each title for around $12 or a little less at DVD Planet or DDD. Even at DVD Empire's $14 each price you would come out a little better not buying the box.

check out www.darkdel.com , under the signings section they have a few Horrorfest dvd signings. I ordered Gravedancers & Unrest. Personally I thought Penny Dreadful was the worst of the fest, so I definitely won't be picking that one up.

    I've preordered 3 of them.

    Gravedancers
    The Hamiltons
    Dark Ride

I thought "The Abandoned" was okay, and I'll probably just rent the others.

I didn't get to see any of these theatrically, so I will just have to rent them and see if any are worth a purchase to me. Either way, I'm stoked about seeing them all!!!

For those of you have seen all of these, which would you rank as your favorite 3 or 4?

I completely agree with BroodingHope. In fact, those are the only three I purchased.
