Yeah, finally we're getting the xenomorphs
Appreciate the thread title change!
New trailer is sah-WEEEEEEET
trailer is ok but that cgi alien at the end looks like garbage
Wait, what? I've seen garbage. I know garbage. Some of my best friends are garbage. This does not look like garbage.
Looking forward to this one a lot. "Prometheus" even with all its faults, was a fun movie. Fingers crossed they've ironed out rough spots.
looks like a computer game, not scary or menacing, hopefully they are still working on it and just rushed out something for the trailer.
Looks pretty damn good for CGI to me.
It honestly doesn't even look that CGI to me. Thing is just being...thing.
It actually looks quite impressive.
Now The Hobbit films on the other hand have some shit CGI for such big budget pictures. Some scenes legit look like they're from a video game and others look cartoon like.
Yeah, the problem--or part of it--with the CGI in those films is that Jackson forgot to add 'weight' to the CGI. So, everything and everyone can just do anything without any sort of pull from gravity or counter-balances. Kinda like the CGI in the SW prequels--the lightsaber duels, for example, where characters jump and flip around completely unhinged from physics.
Here, though, that alien appears to have weight; it's attempting to balance itself on a moving ship while attacking it instead of just being 'placed' atop it via CGI. I dunno, looks good to me.
No, you have been playing too many computer games, the aliens in Aliens look like real things, that does not at all.
Except for the fact I don't play video games what-so-ever. Plus others agree with me. Does that mean they play too many "computer games"?
I think you're just being a picky arse to stand out from the pack. You might think it makes you cool but nah it just makes you annoying.
Actually, they look like stuntmen in monster suit, and the Queen looks like a animatronic puppet, that moves like it has a stick up it's ass.
The FX in Aliens still looks great, but so does the FX in Covenant. It's just different tools.
I can't believe that after over 25 years, people STILL complain about CGI creatures.
What did you expect? Stop Motion?
Take a look at the FX in The Force Awakens.
The CGI creatures moves freely and and quickly, and the Animatronics, are slow and stiff.
If a scene needs movements, that are impossible to do with practical and a stuntman, then CGI is the way to go.
I love practical, but it's extremely limited, when it comes to action like that.
And instead of cutting out the scene, or limit the action, why not use CGI, so you can make the scene, exactly as you wanted?
THIS is shitty CGI
Good ol' teal...more flippin' teal...
Yeah, I have to agree. I think it looks pretty awesome.
