From Garagehouse Pictures Facebook page: Attention Andy Milligan fans: Garagehouse Pictures is extremely excited to announce that we'll be releasing Andy Milligan's outrageous punk rock Frankenstein opus MONSTROSITY (1987) on Blu-ray! The film will be transferred in 4K and restored from the original camera negative, and will include an audio commentary by Jimmy McDonough, author of "The Ghastly One - The Sex-Gore Netherworld of Filmmaker Andy Milligan", and camera operator Charles Beasley, plus trailers, outtakes and more to be announced! Look for more details coming soon!
Garagehouse posted this a while back elsewhere but since it wasn't already here and I just saw it now, here's an early look at the artwork for Monstrosity: I kind of like it.
Milligan update from Facebook: All has been quiet here on the Garagehouse Pictures FB front (sorry, we’ve just been busy elsewhere), so we thought we would drop a little progress report here regarding our Andy Milligan restorations. We are very excited about both of these releases, which will include some really amazing extras. We can’t get them out soon enough, but the elements we are using require extensive work to clean up. The original camera negative for THE WEIRDO was stored for decades under the worst possible conditions resulting in the film developing the dreaded vinegar syndrome; it was also shot on old stock so the negative is very faded as well, among other issues. MONSTROSITY is being restored from a combination of the original camera negative and a work print, as the entire camera negative could not be found after more than a years search. So, it’s taking us longer than anticipated on these titles, but the results will be well worth the wait for Milligan and cult movie fans. Our plan is to release the films at the same time in late April. Stay tuned for more info on these titles, as well as details on the restoration process for THE WEIRDO by our restorationist Marcus Johnson.
Glad to hear things are moving along on the Milligan titles! I actually asked AGFA when their Fleshpot on 42nd Street disc was coming and it sounds like it might not be out for years, so at least it sounds like we might get these 2 soon.
