I was more wondering about image/sound quality. Is this a true Upgrade worth getting?

No it isn't, unless the Blu-ray HD version is mastered from a "PAL" source...which would then make it shorter.

NTSC/PAL doesn't factor with native HD content on Blu-rays. Only the FPS does.

Judging from those 1080p screenshots, I'd say it's definitely not from an SD PAL source.

The German Blu-ray is 1:24:38.531 in length for the HD version on it. 85 Minutes. And the FPS is at 23.976, which is the standard HD frame rate...and the same as the older NTSC frame rate.

The Anchor Bay/Blue Underground DVD has an exact running time of 1:27:54. 88 Minutes.

The SD version of the film on the Blu-ray is "longer", I'm just not sure how much longer than the HD version on the disc. And since it is SD, it could be on the Blu-ray in NTSC or PAL.

The French Blu-ray is reportedly even shorter at 1:21:15.040. 81 Minutes. That is at 35 FPS, which explains why it is shorter.
