Another 3 Pack from Shriek Show

Discussion in 'General' started by IGotsNewShoes, Oct 7, 2005.

  1. Like their Zombie Pack earlier in the year, Shriek Show is bundling up 3 more films for the new boxed set High School Horrors...

I've seen The Majorettes and didn't really care for it, are the other two films good enough to warrant me paying 18 bucks for the set.

If they actually fix their incompetent flaw on the Hell High disc, I might buy it. Otherwise, the old VHS is better than the current Hell High DVD.

But, considering they fixed one of the discs (commentary) in the Zombie Pack, yet some sets still came with the old version......

and hitcher in the dark was framed incorrectly compared to the japanese version( i believe it was missing info on all four sides). Pretty much given up on buying shriek show stuff too many faulty/ cut/ bad quality and so on discs....................................................even I don't believe I will ever stop buying this stuff

I thought the framing issue was basically people were used to seeing the nudity in the full screen version, but when widescreened, you lose the nudity, similar to DOC HOLLYWOOD, S.F.W, MISCHIEF?

Billy wrote a review of Hitcher in the Dark that should answer some questions on that one for you. The movie is bad, but oh so good. At least to me.

Sounds like it should be shown at 1:66 or maybe fullframe? (was this a Italian made for TV flick?)

I have seen both Hell High and The Majorettes. I doubt I will be buying the disc.

I was originally going to get Hell High, but if I can get 2 more movies with it, I shall do that.

Looks like it's going to be around the same price as the Zombie Pack (which I still haven't purchased, dammit), so I might get this. I didn't care much for The Majorettes either, but I would like to see Hitcher in the Dark, so for that price ($11.97 at DDD) it's a steal. :)

I recently bought Hell High and I'm not too interested in seeing the other two films so I doubt I'll buy this. BTW, what exactly is the problem with the Hell High disc? I haven't watched mine yet but I've heard something is fucked up.

A major problem. An entire crucial scene is completely missing from the movie (about 4 to 5 minutes!), apparently due to a DVD authoring error. BOTH of the Commentary tracks also 'skip forward' past the scene, which is really noticable to hear the audio suddenly skip forward. It's pure incompetence on SS's part that this was released this way. So, not only is the movie screwed, both the commentary tracks are incomplete and screwed as well. :fucked:

If you've never seen the movie, part of it will make little sense. At least the old VHS is uncut and makes sense!

I'll definitely grab that Psycho Killers pack. I have Beyond the Darkness already, but I've been wanting the other 2 so I'm in!

Sign me up for the Psycho Killers 3-pack too. I also have Beyond the Darkness but I can probably sell it for ten bucks. House on the Edge of the Park has been on my wishlist for a while.

Yeah, I got it in a Brentwood 10 pack. Widescreen, uncut, and not a bad print to boot. Been wanting the Shriek Show version for a while though. Hell, I saw House on the Edge of the Park at the drive-in years ago. :)

    Has anyone checked this pack?
It's the same discs as before, right (I doubt SS corrected the problems)?
