anyone heard about the redeemer, they have taken it offf theironlije futurereleases list
From the blog
"Plus we will also have some suprises in store, especially one critically acclaimed horror/slasher film that should make alot of fans quite happy. Stay tuned!"
Anyone know what this might be?
No clue, but I trust Code Red.
Let's hope Code Red delivers. Their work is great, but it takes frigging forever!!
What's with their dvds that are out now? I wanted to order The Forest and Don't Go Into The Woods...Alone! during the DD 20% off sale, but they didn't even have them listed on the site. I also checked a couple of other places like Amazon, but they only had them in the marketplace. Now it's saying "temporarily out of stock". Did they go out of print for a while or something?
They lost distribution. With no distribution, you can't get stock out there. They were never OOP, just really really hard to get. With the new deal that has apparently been cut, they'll all pop up again.
Ah ok. I didn't think they would actually go out of print that fast. I mean they've only been out for like a year or so. Hopefully they pop up again soon though. Thanks for the info dwatts.
They both may be out of print, while they change distributors.
On their newest MySpace blog, they list a "Killers in the Woods" Double Bill as an upcoming release in 2008, so I'm betting this is a double feature re-release disc of The Forest and Don't Go in the Woods.
Wow. I'm pretty sure if someone watched those two movies back to back, they would die.
Hey come on, with the proper amount of beer, Don't Go In the Woods can be an enjoyable movie. I'm sure the same could be said about The Forest. Maybe.
I don't think Luna trusts Code Red... they will probably be the new Grindhouse Releasing.
Don't Go Into the Woods is truly great. The more I think about about it the better it gets. I think it's up there with the best of the "so bad..." movies. And then DVD is so earnest, just makes it damn near perfect.
The Forest is odd, and to quote David Byrne: "When it didn't work it just seemed like nutty artsy-fartsy stuff."
Yeah, in retrospect both are actually pretty amazing. I get a big smile when I think about both, and how the earnestness you mentioned coupled with the sheer ineptitude of both final products combines to something you can't help but appreciatively admire. That still doesn't make the experience of watching them any more bearable though.
The DVD for Don't Go in the Woods is amazing though...never have I seen a more personal project on the entire medium. Even the titles and menus have a quaint personal touch.
I'm assuming it will be Silent Scream or The Mutilator.
It was the opposite for me. Beer for The Forest, LOTS of beer for DGITW.
i was hammered for both of those movies... and Doom Asylum too! Thanks Code Red.
Beer and bad movies go together so well...
now drinking... Schlitz High Gravity 8.5%
Having Netflix "Watch it Now"...DON'T GO IN THE WOODS and THE FOREST are the only two films I have used up my monthly 9 hours on for the past few months.
Crazed, I tell ya.
Didn't they already announce The Mutilator? I've been waiting a long time to see that one. Looking forward to Nightmare too. :glasses:
i'm also highly anticipating those 2 aswell...
Baird Stafford seems to be talking about the code red DVD in a thread at the imdb. Interesting stuff. http://imdb.com/title/tt0082818/board/nest/65938101?p=1
