I also broke open my Slaughterhouse Rock last night. I dug Toni Basil's out-of-body experience-inducing dance routine. She lends a sense of fun to the movie. The guy who plays the hero's older brother is smoking hot. The gore/creature effects are good in a rubber reality sort of way. Some scenes feel a bit padded. Like in an early scene taking place in a burger joint, the camera meticulously takes time to focus on several unimportant extras before finally settling on the main couple. The picture quality is good. The audio is not bad, but it did leave me wishing Code Red had included subtitles on a few instances of muffled dialogue.
I watched it last night and thought it looked fine. No special features except a trailer, in fact the only menu options are Play Movie and Play Trailer. I remember catching bits and pieces of it on the SciFi channel back in the 90s, but I don't think I had ever seen the entire movie before. I had a lot of fun with it. It was like watching a really good episode of The X-Files (although that may be because the bad guy reminded me so much of Tooms). Very happy with my purchase. It's great to start seeing some of these fun '90s straight-to-video movies like this and Jack Frost hitting blu-ray.
Just open a claim that will get his attention. I been talking to allot of people same story. No shipment no tracking and Bill with his thumb up his ass.
Well at least he responded. Paypal didn't have a tracking number? I know my last placed order took about a week after the shipment confirmation. Just got it yesterday, so shipping was slow that particular time. My timeline. I order on the 4th. Received a shipping confirmation on the 21st. Got the package on 28th. I wouldn't be filing any claim just yet. December, Bill has been behind in many orders. I'm sure it will arrive soon. If Bill told you he sent it out already weeks ago, then I would be questioning the post office. You're in the US, correct? They ship mostly from WA, in case you were wondering. Also, going out on a limb but maybe it was what you particularly ordered? Like the movie(or movies) you ordered was out of stock. (a mistake) And he had to go to his CA storage to get more copies. I have no idea.
cool news I should be receiving my copy in the mail tomorrow I got it because it says hills have eyes III on it lol
Exactly, at first it did. Said also, like awaiting pick up... It said this same message for 6 days. Then on the 7th day it said arrived at Post Office(my PO) If this is what yours is showing, then it's gotta be on it's way & should be arriving soon.
"Released on Blu-ray under the title The Hills Have Eyes III (which begs the question of whether it's the third in the series started by Wes Craven or Alexandre Aja)" Um what Mondo Digital? It's clearly supposed to be a follow up to Craven's films (and I believe was intended to be the third film).
yep watched my copy of Hills 3 it was made in 1995 follow up to Craven's film next code red title i'll be buying/getting is Mutant
For those who don't follow Code Red DVD on Facebook, Bill posted this yesterday: Am I the only one ridiculously excited about this? I can't wait to see the extended version with that eerie home-grown creature. I hope the release will feature both cuts, but in any event, it will be Screams of a Winter Night, and it will be on Blu-ray!
I am with you. This has been a top "to find" movie for me for two decades. The fact that it is getting a blu ray special edition of a hugely longer edit is not just icing on the cake, its like getting a second cake free. Now, lets hope the movie doesn't suck.
