It's true that the glowing orb doesn't exactly project any kind of menace. I just did a quick crude search for Simon's budget & came up empty. My guess is that this may have had a lower budget than an A.I.P. film made around the same time? The Dunwich Horror (another film I like) was made the previous year by A.I.P. & definitely cut corners in the visual effects for supernatural events, particularly in the latter portion of the production. Fortunately I enjoy both films enough that I suppose I give them a free pass in these respects. Agreed on the pentagram moment in Simon, that was well played.

Jeez, the online shop has been closed for a long time now. Just like the good old days. Bill was on a roll too, he set a new record with days open.:)

THE DARK always played like a sort of feature length episode of KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER to me. I've had a DVD of THE DEVIL WITHIN HER for years in Region 2 under the super generic title of MONSTER. It came in a set with Hammer's HANDS OF THE RIPPER and the anthology THE UNCANNY.

I wouldn't hold our breaths, but this is the first ever tiny inkling I ever heard someone/company (with the power to release it) mention the movie. Fingers crossed.

Got mine earlier today also. The transfer looks excellent, perhaps one of Code Red's best thus far.

The ratio on the back cover is incorrect however. It's in the OAR (2.35:1) instead of the 1.78:1 ratio listed.

It looked great. My memory of the Media Blasters DVD was that it was very dark. This was dark, but enough contrast to see everything. Forgot what a goofy fun movie it is.

It's not great. It went down easy but it's more of a time-killer than anything else.

On August 21st I ordered 5 titles from Code Red which still haven't arrived. Not that big a deal but considering it cost $13.00 for postage the wait time kind of sucks.

In this day and age, a month(and still counting) to get merchandise is unacceptable. Not to mention it cost $13. Even if the shipping was free it would be absurd imo. What did you buy a set of x-ray glasses on the back of a comic book?

Now if any of those titles were pre orders, ignore all of what I said. :)
