Dropping Ronin is a huge mistake. The rudest "customer service" email I ever got came from Diabolik, and between that and their usurious domestic shipping charges, I'll never order from them again.

Thanks to Ronin, I got back into buying Code Red releases. They ship everything immediately, and they do a great job with packaging.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who feels this way. I hope this seriously impacts Code Red's revenue.

Is he moving all his stuff to the Dark Force bigcartel? I will say their shipping was very fast, although my order just went from one end of West Hollywood to the other. But the tracking number worked and their communication was good. I'm not sure how they calculate shipping costs. Shipping was $9 for 4 movies but I couldn't find any info on the site that explains their policy.

No, he already ceased further relations with Dark Force... given their recent shady business practices.

Or... at least that was the rumor. Who really knows with Bill though.

I know this is a little harsh to say but after the recent news and that prior kickstarter fiasco, Bill can't be trusted imho. That "my Blu releases don't sell" garbage is wearing thin. Either run the business properly or get out of it entirely. His business should be a subject model in school on what not to do. The fact that he once defended Cinespectral tells you everything. Just sell whatever movie release rights you still have to your brother or some other real company and call it a day.

Apparently, relations between Code Red and Dark Force are quite active.

I'm so in for upgrading The Carrier! "Cats... or death!"

Just wish it was from Ronin. I prefer easy transactions and good customer service.

They released a film (The House That Vanished) they didn't have a license to release (and it was cut by 10 minutes). Basically just the entire way they handled the affair, was just shady. It's too numerous to really list here, but even the guys from Scorpion & Mondo Macabro got into with them and criticized their practices.

Their transfers have been really crappy so far also.

I guess this is how Dark Force regained Bill's good graces: they paid "CASH" for 200 copies of The Carrier.

Ronin apparently doesn't pay "CASH" up front, so good customer service be damned!

A listing for The Carrier is also up, but not yet available for order.

Interesting. I kind of assumed Dark Force WAS Code Red but Bill was letting someone else run the website and online store. Their storefront is another bigcartel, their general website looks very similar to Code Red's, most of their stock is Code Red titles. Plus Bill had said at one point he wasn't going to bother using his own bigcartel page anymore. I'm in for the God's Bloody Acre/So Sad About Gloria double feature though - hopefully it will look good.

I've been wanting to see So Sad About Gloria for the longest time - glad I didn't shell out for the OOP DVD. Unfortunately, the trailer won't be included - I'm a trailer nut, and the trailer for Gloria is pretty spooky.

More of his movies are now on amazon prime. I find it funny he won't sell his discs on amazon but he's happy for the film's to be shown free on prime.

To me it would be a the perfect reason to show them on prime. Somebody watches, enjoys, decides to buy movie and just does a few clicks within Amazon and hey presto.

But I forgot he does not like good business opportunities. lol

So apparently Bill is not releasing any new Code Red titles through RoninFlix. They’ll only be available on the cartel website (which he rarely operates), SAE and diabolik. So looks like I’m not buying any more Code Red titles, the international shipping is insane.

Man it’s like this guy is trying to sabotage his own business.

My understanding is that Dark Force is owned / operated by David DeFalco (director of Chaos / The Backlot Murders).

Looks like Dark Force is now offering free US shipping and reduced fees for international shipping.
