That titles mentioned above has a bunch listed that I'd love to see on DVD. 2 that weren't mentioned that I really want a release of: Blood Beach and New Year's Evil.
What about Screams of a Winter Night? I all for the love of Night of the Demon. More people need to see that film!
I think most cheap horror film is dead in the water for Anchor Bay. Like I said before, it's OWNED by a major studio. None us little label can't do anything for this film. I had dinner at James L. Conway/Rebecca Balding's house, we all want it out. It out of our hands. Again, Major studios The film is cut 16mm on a A & B roll. Labs Anchor Bay, Blue Underground, Synapse, Media-Blasters and other use do not touch A & B rolls, it's a out of date system. It's cost 4 times the money to take it to a specialist and since it's 16mm whoever puts it out will have internet critics and customers complaining about GRAIN GRAIN GRAIN. It's a no win situations.
Ooo, title pitching. Okay, I've got some suggestions: Savage Lust (1990) The Night Brings Charlie (1990) Contagion (1987) The Returning (1983) Visions of Evil (1975)
It's owned by the same people who has DOOM ASYLUM. I don't want to go on that road again. Movie was edited on video and the film's credit is on video. Horror fans want brand new 16 x9 telecine, and in order to do this I have to reconstruct the entire film. I think most Walter Parks stuff is owned by Universal anyway. It's a direct-to-video Australian film. You should Synapse on this one. It's owned by Liberation DVD. It's already licensed. I haven't got a clue who owns this. I remember falling asleep on the film, was it even a horror film???
Hey Bill, enjoy all your posts. Just wondering if you know who owns the rights to Cross Country (1983) with RIchard Beymer and Michael Ironside?
owned by New World(not the Corman one, but the new one who produced CHILDREN OF THE CORN, CREEPSHOW 2), so it is with Anchor Bay, so email them to get this out on DVD!
Hmmm, I saw a bunch of reels go on eBay like 6-8 month ago. Maybe that person is taking care of it. Regardless, if it's obtainable it needs to be done. Sounds like a cool project for someone to take on. Have you settled the Mutilator rights issue?
Visions of Evil is, like, an early slasher, also titled "So Sad About Gloria." It's about a girl who returns after being in a mental hospital, and then begins a bunch of ax murders. Well, not really "a bunch" per say. But yeah. There's a twist, and she has visions, and all that good stuff. I'd call it horror. Like, how "Devil Times Five" is horror. AKA, More thriller orientated, but fits right into the genre. Also, new suggestions: -City of Blood (1983) -Fear (1981) -The Devil's Gift (1984) -A Day of Judgement (1981) -The Deadly Intruder (1985) -The Power (1984) -Psycho Sisters (1974) -Death Kiss (1974) [AKA, The Rape Killer] -Lone Wolf (1988)
The Power would be great! None of these guys early movies (Obrow and Carpenter) have seemed to have been given a decent DVD release. I have always really liked this one.
The Female Butcher (Jorge Grau) Necromancy (Orson Welles plays the head of a witches coven) The Strangeness Bill, Have you looked into any Barbara Steel flix? Long Hair of Death, The Ghost, She Beast, Terror Creatures, or Nightmare Castle? Most of those need a solid release.
It's south african film. How can I get a film from that country??? Mondo Macabro probably can get one. It's out on dvd from video asia I answered this question few month ago. It's out on dvd on Image entertainment. The director re-edited it and called it MERLIN'S SHOP OF MYSTICAL WONDERS It's on dvd from Earl Owensby's own label and you can buy it at amazon. I talk to several people regarding this film and all leads came to a dead end. It's owned by Liberation DVD and they will probably put in out one day. The owner was not intresting on a dvd release It's out on Jef , or wait New Star, oh no televisita dvd MGM has it Find me guy who can translate italian and I can put out NIGHTMARE Find me a 35mm neg or print and I can put out MUTILATOR We talk to several people over STRANGENESS but it was all dead end. FEMALE BUTCHER will cost more money than BEYOND THE DOOR because it's a spanish film. I lost tons of money of BTD, why would this film sell more than BTD? NECROMANCY's rights owner was not intrested in dvd B&W Barbara Steele film is more toward Severin dvd, not code red.
Not sure if anyone has asked about it,but do you know who owns the rights to SHADOW OF THE HAWK ? It's a 70's horror film (got a lot of drive-in play around here) starring Jan Michael Vincent and Chief Dan George. I know there was a version out of CREATURE FROM BLACK LAKE,but it was in the wrong aspect ratio,is that still tied up ? Not exactly horror, but any idea who owns the sci-fi cheesefest STARSHIP INVASIONS with Christopher Lee and Robert Vaughn ?
