It's hard to think of films that would be "hidden gems" on a message board where most of the members seen so much.

Here are a bunch I really enjoyed that don't get talked about enough though.

    Five Across the Eyes (2006)
    Jack Be Nimble (1993)

    Habit (1997)
Blood Mood (2001) (Good call maskull)
    If I die before I wake (1998)

    Dark Waters (1994)
    Aswang (1994)

Nice recommendations Hellbilly. I would agree with all of these.

I totally agree with the above list.

The Breed was a huge surprise for me. It was in the bargain bin for $2.99 and I just picked it up cause Michelle Rodriguez was in it and there looked like it was about killer dogs. Really worthwhile movie.

Cookers was totally low budget but managed to be creepy as hell.

    Also wanted to add:

Gone (2007) - which still doesn't seem to have a Region 1 release. But there is a R2 Disc out there for a decent price.

Cold Prey (2006)/Cold Prey 2 (2008) - There is a region 1 release of the first movie but you have to go R2 to get the sequel. Part 3 comes out later this year.

The Mad (2007) - Very silly, over-the-top comedy/horror. But a lot of fun if you shut your brain off.

Last Night (1998) - Not really a horror but a movie dealing with the end of the world and what people choose to do with their time left.

I saw Deathdream tonight and loved it! I had avoided it because of it's "PG" rating but it was very creepy and a good story. Recommended.

I don't think this one has been mentioned yet...
    The Pit (1981)
Opinions differ about this film, but to me it is perversion and angst wrapped in chaos and bloodshed. It is, in part, its ineptitude that keeps it so unpredictable. And the fashion in which no one around Jamie reacts in a realistic fashion adds to the dream-like, disorienting atmosphere of the film.
I don't know- if someone punched me IN THE FACE just for wanting to be their friend, I think that I might be tempted to feed them to some Tra-La-Logs too.
