Any horror films on dvd already that you would like to see uncut ?

Mine would be phantom of the opera 1989, happy birthday to me,shocker,maniac cop 2-3 and all the old friday the 13th films.

 

I think I'd go with the F13 movies just to finally lay that shit to rest. I'm not sure if it's possible for all them or if the footage is really lost, I'd just like the saga to end. Having bought the expensive (believe me - $30-40 each here in Canada) first releases and lived through all the other bullshit, we need a believable Final Chapter on this.

 

Naturally, all of the F13's uncut, intact.

Happy Birthday to Me. Getting re-released next month but still haven't heard if it's going to be uncut or not.

Just Before Dawn. I know it's only missing a second or two but it'd be nice to have it.

Cherry Falls. Always wanted to see what was cut out of this.



And one non-horror movie comes to mind: Death Wish 2. It was released uncut overseas but I'd like to have a R1 copy of it.

 

Are there any examples where the uncut/director's cut/producers cut isn't better than the theatrical cut?

Pretty much on the F13 threads in all the history of all horror forums out there. For a decade, it's been a guessing game and people saying there is no footage, then we find out there is, now we find out this is the last of it, but what will happen come a Blu box set? No one trusts anyone enough right now to believe anything for sure.

And, a lot of people think RZ's Halloween director's cut is worse than the theatrical. I have seen his DC and see no point in seeing if the theatrical version is a pubic hair better than that piece of shit anyways.

 

Yeah, Elite re-released it a few years ago in a Millenium Edition.

I'd really like to see RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 3 released uncut on DVD, that R-Rated DVD just bites the big one!

Also some of the others mentioned in this thread would be nice to see as well. However I wouldn't hold my breath for the remaining FRIDAY films to be uncut, sheesh we're lucky Paramount even came through on the Deluxe Editions as they have.

 

ROTLD 3 was released uncut in other countries. I have an UK disc that's uncut.

I'd like to see the full uncut version of the Wicker Man. I know there's an extended version, but still footage is missing. If missing footage for Metropolis pops up decades later, so can footage for the Wicker Man!

 

I can't remember much of any difference between the theatrical and extended editions of Alien, but then i haven't seen it in years. I agree about Aliens. the extended cut was interesting to see once, but the original cut is a much tighter, more entertaining film, and all the little character bits that were added were unnecessary.

...but Blade Runner? I guess I'd have to ask you to be more specific. Are you saying you prefer the original theatrical cut to the "Director's Cut", or the "Director's Cut" to the "Final Cut"?

I do agree with you on Alien and it seems Ridley Scott does as well. That cocoon scene is ridiculous.

I disagree with you on Aliens. I enjoy the scenes with Newt's family and the sentry guns, but don't care care for the Ripley discovering that her daughter had died.

You really prefer the US Theatrical Cut or International Cut of Blade Runner to the 2007 Final Cut and the 1992 Director's Cut? Did you see it in theaters when it originally came out because the 2007 Final Cut is amazing?

Besides the F13th films, the Nightmare on Elm Streets, the Halloweens, Night Breed and Return of the Living Dead 3(I do own it on vcd, but can I only watch it on my pc). Funny that most of the films that I want to see are 20 to 30 years old and I would rather watch them than most of the new horror movies out today. I must be showing my age.

 

I'd love to see the cut hobo massacre from An American Werewolf in London. That and everything from Friday the 13th VII are the holy grail of cut horror for me.

 

I want RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 1 & 2 and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME and any other flicks I am forgetting with their original soundtracks. And PSYCHO COP 2 uncut.
