So how am I going to get my hands on the hardcore bow-chick-a-wow version?
Sounds like he's planning on doing a limited edition of it.
xploitedcinema did have the balls out uncut edition with director's autograph which i got not sold out and had alot of xxx scenes in it
And I am stopping it and walking away.
I did like the music they used in the movie, but not enough to put up with all that. Maybe if they release Gutterballs: Now With 95% Less Gratuitous Rape I will consider giving it another shot, but I doubt it because that would still be a whole hell of a lot of gratuitous rape.
anyone get the dvd that was officially released today 1/27/09
AH! Thanks for the reminder. I will get this and pre-order a little Friday the 13th uncut Blu-Ray
Bought this one as a blind buy.
The movie really tries hard to be an 80's throwback and succeeds!
The acting is Troma-level, and the word f*ck is used multiple times in every sentence! It's gets to a point where you just can't believe how many times all the characters say it.
The violence is extreme, including a shocking scene involving some pretty nasty "surgery"
The music (not the songs) really impressed me with a feel for US and Italian horror of the 80's. In fact, there were a few times i would have believed i was watching a post-Demons Lamberto Bava film.
I watched the Unrated DVD, and there was Male genitalia on display, so I'm not sure if this is considered the xxx version.
Overall a fun, brutal, nasty entertaining little horror film!
I really have hesitations about even renting this one, since the director previously made Live Feed. What a steaming turd that one was! :eek1:
I kinda enjoyed Live Feed in a weird way
I just got it from Netflix, probably watch this weekend.
BlockBuster didn't have it yet
It's pretty amazing how much better Netflix is with the mailing movies biz. The only reason I put up with BlockBuster is I like being able to trade in mailer movies for new releases and such in the store for free. That's a good deal.
I've always wanted to see this one.....
I believe Emily Perkins is in it, and I like anything that she does....
Watched the first 30 minutes earlier tonight and man does this ever throwback to the '80s in the best possible way. Savage Streets meets Pinball Summer. Rhett, this might as well be the next film in tax shelter "balls" film. So damn Canadian in its exploitation. The rape is gratuitous, but you guys mean to tell me there's an even more nasty version. I'm already curious.
I saw the unrated director's cut (ordered it from the official website). It wasn't bad in a bad way. I think it captured the low-budget feel of early 80's movies pretty well. The characters were obnoxious and annoying, and the fact that there was a twist ending was telegraphed pretty early, but I actually didn't guess what the twist was.
I haven't been able to see it again though, since the disk cracked (the hub refused to let go...). I'm amazed at how many poorly designed DVD cases there are - either the hub breaks into a hundred little pieces in shipping, or it doesn't let go and the disk breaks.
To make a long ranty story short, it's worth seeing if you like this kind of thing.
Watched it last night and it was alright. I would not visit this one over and over again, but if I were flipping channels late at night and it were on I would end up watching it again. The characters and acting are pretty bad and like most people have said "fuck" is used way to often (it actually becomes tiring to hear it). It does have some good gore and cool kills. Netflix sent the unrated disc and there is a fare amount of nudity; a pussy shot and a few cocks. The 69 scene seemed pretty xxx to me. The rape scene does seem never ending, but not as graphic as I expected. Maybe there is a xxx version that shows more hardcore in the rape, but I can do without that. All-in-all I recommend seeing the movie, but I as a rental and not a blind buy.
Watched this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely has a Troma feel to it and I couldn't help but think of Toxic Avenger a couple times. The image isn't so great and the audio is tinny most of the way through, dialogue in spots is hard to understand. That being said, I had a smile on my face a lot of the time.
Course, I worked at a bowling alley as a kid so maybe that helped my appreciation of it a bit. Like someone said before, it's not for everyone but I got a real kick out of it.
Not positive which version I caught since I had to download it, but it sounds like the unrated Soxfan is speaking of. The rape was long and painful, but that 69 scene was fucking brilliant!
Is it a great film? Hells no.
Was it a fun film? After the rape it was a blast.
Not sure if I want to see the XXX version or not. I would've enjoyed Thriller a lot more without the porn. It's probably best to keep horror and porn seperate, or else end up with another Porn of the Dead which loses everything good about both genres. Serious, with horror, it needs to tease you and not lay everything right out there. Porn needs to lay it out and not fuck around!
I reviewed it about a month ago here. I got a kick out of it, not good by any means, but it sure was fun for the most part. Although I don't think I've ever heard the word "fuck" as many times in a 90-minute span before, and probably never will again
I enjoyed it. Watched it as a double feature with "The Other Boleyn Girl".
Ok so I finally watched this overhyped slasher flick and I was definetly dissapointed. The acting wasnt as bad as I had expected but the gore was far from over the top and the sex was no more disturbing then I spit on Your Grave. Watch with a beer.
