I think I will wait until the reviews start coming in due to who is behind this one.

Plans are for my wife & I to go at some point on Friday just because every Friday the 13th feels like a natural holiday for us. I managed to get the day off so I'm just waiting to see her schedule. It may not be great but I'm hoping it's at least better than the only other two Jason movies I've seen in theaters (Jason X & Freddy vs. Jason)

If it was on a DVD you bought in Canada then it should be good. I've never had a problem cashing them before.

I've been really looking forward to this one but lately I've been a little bit worried due to people keep mentioning about Jason trapping victims. I don't like that at all. Hopefully it's not a major part of the movie because otherwise if this turns into a torture porn flick, I'm not going to like it. I like my Jason to just be the dude that pops out and kills and then moves on.

Dammit! I hate remakes, but for some reason the hype over this one is starting to get me. I'm a Friday fan and here in my country the movie will open in the 12th. Anyway since this is more of a reboot than a remake, and just for the sake to be able to say that I saw a Friday the 13th on a friday the 13th might be enough to make me go to the cinema. I can only hope that is not a mtv-like movie, edited with fast cuts, and all that stupid imaginery shit we get these days

I'll be there Saturday the 14th! Which reminds me, I need to pick up both Saturday the 14th flicks sometime...

The reason I can't go on the actual Friday the 13th is because my band is playing a show that night and I work during the day.

I'll check it out. I did the same with the TCM remake. That said, I went into that flik thinking of it as simply another sequel as opposed to a remake, and, for whatever reason, that helped me attempt to enjoy the flik, simply because I wasn't comparing it to the original the entire that. I'll more than likely do the same to this.

Ooooh, I don't like what I'm hearing about this trapping victims thing. Still going of course, I just don't like the thought of that.

As much as I would love to see it opening day, I have to close all weekend so I might see it the Wed after or the weekend after when I'm off.

Of course, every movie that comes out nowadays is released uncut and longer than the theatrical version. It almost seems like it's done on purpose to attempt to increase DVD sales.

I'll probably check it out sometime during it's theatrical run.

Take "it almost seems like" out and you hit it. Nowadays they know while shooting some things will be dvd extras or extended scenes for dvd.

Since I can't hold onto my moviecash and use it toward the dvd, I'll have to see it in the theater this weekend. Haven't decided on Thursday at midnight or probably Friday evening/night, but it's on this weekend.:)

Probably Saturday night. I don't have a good feeling about it at all and would much rather just see a straight out Friday sequel, but it will still be cool to see Jason on the big screen again.

  18. I saw this last night. My expectation bar was set extremely low. The movie came in even lower than that. I should've walked out. This movie is horrible. I know others will not share my opinion and I look forward to hearing what these people like about the movie. I could've swore that this thing dragged on for two plus hours and it's really much shorter than that. I'm a 44 year old male and I know these movies are not made for me... it's for the teen market who will probably eat it up. If you were expecting some sort of tribute to an all time classic you'll be bummed.

I'll rent it for sure, but I'm not a big enough fan of the original series for me to want to see it theatrically.
