    im hyped as well!! :D

i agree, the music was not so good. i wanted more "ki ki ki ma ma ma" I think it would've been better with strings...like the original 4.

there was some things were missing....POV shots and midnight skinny dips. there should've been a big unmasking at the end. but i loved the ending...i just knew it was coming!

Overall, it was STUPENDOUS! ....lol

This was the first Friday the 13th that I did not see on opening day since, I believe, Part 2...but I did get to see the original on the big screen for the first time ever..and on a double bill with the original My Bloody Valentine! So I guess it was worth the trade off. I will try and get to this week...sadly it's school vacation this week...so I have to try and figure out the best time to head to the theater, when it won't be overrun with idiots. I am thinking maybe Monday evening.

I was really disappointed in it. Not the Friday I grew up with. After letting it sink in from last night, I didn't hate it, but still very lukewarm about it. Fun film, but there was something missing for me. And Jason was a little too intelligent for my taste! I do want to see what the extended edition will be like and I want it in my collection, since I have the other 11 films.

I was in stitches when he said stupendous and when he screamed like a girl :D

I loved the ending too I actually thought it might go to credits first and then you'd have the final scare but was glad they did it at the end.

Good news. I have to see this now instead of waiting for it to hit Blu Ray.

Ha! Yes, stupendous is the word of the day :)

Loved the "nipple placement" comment as well. The sex scenes were so akward that even my wife was laughing. Fuck, the magazine part was hilarious, too.

Well, the guy has to have someting to do in the winter when there aren't campers to kill! He is the most un-dude, anti-social pothead I've ever seen or heard of though. It's "puff puff give", not "puff puff kill". Maybe he kills because he's stoned and paranoid.

Seems like this is going to be a big hit at theaters. Projected estimates for Friday alone is around $20 million!!!

I loved it Big thumbs up. I'd put it as my 3rd or 4th favorite. Somewhere just behind the first 3. It was better than I expected. I was really shocked on how much I liked it.

wow....some of you actually LIKED this movie?

Wouldn't have seen it but some friends invited me along as an "anti-Valentine's Day" event. Luckily I did not pay full price, but I hate that I will have contributed to the box office take.

Afterwards we went to a midnight screening of The Disco Dolls in Hot Skin (in 3-D), a 70s porn movie. We debated which film had better acting and storyline. It was a toss-up.

Just got back from seeing the new Friday the 13th. I'd give it a 7/10. Pretty decent film. The ending was a little lame, but the killings were top notch and I really liked the score. Very different yet effective.

As I already said in another thread, I enjoyed seeing this movie. Saw it in a very small theater yesterday with some friends and the place was basically empty. We all liked it. I went into this movie thinking it would probably be terrible, but I found it entertaining on a couple levels. It was fun to see how they tried to tie things together and use scenes, etc. from the originals. Other than going from mom, to burlap sack/pilllow case to hockey mask, and mom's shrine, there really was nothing else in here like the originals (and maybe like the random dood searching for his missing sister ala Final Chapter).

It was like seeing a new episode imo, but just kinda refreshes you on how Jason came to be (with some minor changes - like how he got his mask). I'll take this "episode" over Parts 5, 8, Goes to Hell and X easily.

Saw this over the weekend and thought it sucked.

To me, it seemed like this movie couldn't decide whether it wanted to be "smart, realistic, post 2000 horror" or "cliche corn ball classic horror". The characters, stereotypes, and acting screamed old school, but the actual movie was done in with the typical "quick cutting, shaky hand camera, epic music" style.

In my opinion, it failed on both accounts. It didn't come close to being a classic slasher film and it didn't come off as smart or edgy either. What I saw was another re-hash modern day slasher film where Jason could have been substituted by anyone and there would be zero difference. This didn't feel like a Friday the 13th film whatsoever. :(

I ended up getting to see it on Ftriday the 13th after all. :D I already posted my thoughts in one of the other threads, but I will just say, I totally agree with you. Awesome movie, and the best Jason film since part 7!
