I’ve never seen Shock Treatment nor can I find a thread on here.

Anyone a fan on here? How does it compare to RHPS?

Aside from the title song "Shock Treatment", I really didn't like it much at all. Pales in comparison to Rocky Horror. And the music is nowhere near as good.

That said, I've only seen it once, and I think most musicals grow on you if you watch them more than once and get acquainted with the songs.

I thought it was quite good and enjoyed it. Not as good as Rocky Horror and looks cheaper but I thought it was fun and a solid musical. Only seen it once not long ago but definitely want to watch it again.

Not a fan. But I was in high school when I saw it and I hear a lot of people give it high marks, so it's probably just me.

That said, I'll probably buy this version during one of their sales....just to be sure.

Um, does the 4K restore really look better Cat? I am not a big fan of brightening up scenes excessively, but some of the screens look far better in a brighter state as in the older Arrow release. Still want the new one for the packaging.

This is what I wrote when I watched it in October:
I'm a big RHPS fan, and I wouldn't say Shock Treatment holds a candle to that, but it's so completely different that it doesn't really matter. Comparing the two is kind of pointless. The more I watch this, the more I enjoy it. And I've had the soundtrack CD in my car ever since I bought the blu ray, and it's seen quite a lot of play.

I would say this is a real rent-it-first kind of deal. It's just too bizarre to recommend as a blind buy for anyone. I know it has a lot of fans, but I also know that many people think it's complete garbage.

Thanks for the heads up, that's a crazy price had to bite at that, currently out of stock (no surprise!) I suspect this won't be on offer for long!

12 Monkeys - a big, well-made movie which I have no real need to own or see again.

Will no doubt get Elvira, though. :)

Seems to be, more or less, identical to the UK limited edition release, minus the soundtrack.

And Arrow confirmed that the US/Canada Deep Red set with be housed in a sturdy hardbox the way their recent LEs have been packaged. Which is good news because the original UK release had shitty flimsy packaging and mine got totally damaged in the mail when I first got it. It was sold out by that time and I couldn’t get a replacement. Spine was creased to fuck.

I’ll likely pick this up for the sturdier packaging because the damage on my old set has always bothered me. Plus it’ll match all my other Arrow LEs.

I wonder what the chances are that the minor editing error in the Export Version (a snippet with the Italian flag bicyclist was included) will be corrected. I'm guessing close to 0% since they never offered replacements in the UK.

Edit: Apparently it has been corrected.

Are you guys seeing different post from Arrow? This makes it sound like it'll be the same as the UK release, in terms of packaging.

I wouldn't have called it poor, not really any better or worse than the average sideloading slipcase, but it definitely isn't as nice as the hardboxes the other Argentos were packaged in.

I love it personally. It doesn't stand up to RHPS but it's got a gonzo grace all it's own. Def an underrated movie Imo.

Underwhelming announcement but if Deep Red is coming in a hard case this time I may buy it and swap it out with my UK set. I really love those hard boxes they use.
