I have it under good authority that Bull Moose will have an Arrow sale beginning on the 31st. I saw multiple copies of Re-Animator on the shelf that weren’t there a few days before, as well as multiples of Hills Have Eyes and a few others. I deduced as much and asked about a possible sale and it was verified when he looked up Re-Animator. He said it’d be $17.

    Nice on A doppia faccia!

I didn't really care for Dream No Evil, but I've heard good things over the years about The Child, and Dark August sounds better than the rarity preceding it.

I'm a big fan of The Child. It's got the same issues that a lot of no-budget, regional films have: questionable performances, rough editing etc. I still love it, though.

I think it might end up being part of the Lakeshore deal that Scorpion has.

    *** SURPRISE SLASHER ANNOUNCEMENT!!! ***

Prepare to stare in wide-mouthed disbelief! As previously teased by Arrow Video’s Ewan Cant on slasher podcast The Hysteria Continues, we are extremely excited to reveal that we will be giving the hugely underrated slice-and-dicer THE PREY its due later this year with a brand new, extras-laden 2-disc Blu-ray edition - including both the Original US Theatrical Cut, and the much-celebrated extended “Gypsy Cut” coveted by hardened horror fans everywhere!!! And if that wasn’t enough Prey-related goodness for you, we’ll be unveiling our new restoration of the film (from the original, long-lost camera negative, no less) at this year’s Texas Frightmare Weekend, where stars Lori Lethin, Carel Struycken and Jackson Bostwick will be on hand to answer all of your Prey-related questions. Further details to follow soon, you happy campers - in the meantime, check out the brand new artwork especially commissioned for the limited edition slip!

Are you sure hellraiser40 isn't the one playing April Fool's?

    Here is last year's tease:

I hope so, I like some April fools stuff, but when announcements get made for movies high on peoples wish lists in the name of April pranks, it just seems cruel to me, especially the package they touted, I saw the film many years ago and didn't like it, but I was prepared to revisit with the package announced!

Yeah, it's in poor taste to make false announcements for titles the fans have been clamouring for. And I doubt Arrow would do that. In any event, I'm getting my hopes up. The Prey is not a top tier slasher, but it has more stuff that I like than stuff I don't. Bring on Honeymoon Horror as well for more disfigured maniac mayhem!

As for American Horror Project Vol. II, now we're talking! Two of the titles I've only read about, and I'm curious enough, but the inclusion of The Child alone makes this set worth it for me. It's spooky, it's low-budget, it's 70's, the zombie makeup is crusty, there's gore - I'm happy. The child actress is no great shakes, but this is the kind of movie that rises above its imperfections for me.
