urotsukidoji legend of the overfiend 1989

the film was a bit like heavy metal the 1981
animated film filled with sex blood and gutts
and urotsukidoji has all thoes combined into
one graphic feature film and became the most
ranted about manga feature film in decades
and still is talked about today and became
a cult following with legions of fans.

Media Blasters is going to be re-releasing this. The movie version and the UNCUT version, though, it keeps getting delayed. On their facebook page they have photos up of the blu-ray and standard DVD of the CUT version.

Wow. This is one title I never would have thought would see the light of day in HD. I'll pick up the blu-ray if it's reasonably priced.

I think it's supposed to be a DVD/blu-ray combo. Every time I ask them about it on their facebook page, I never get an answer. It's been dated and delayed several times. Who knows when it'll be out.

I see that the DVD is using the same image as the Japanese poster.

I'll look forward to seeing this as I've only ever viewed it in Japanese (with no subtitles as far as I can remember), and that was many, many years ago. So I guess I'm OK with waiting some more for however long it finally takes them to actually release it.

Great cover. It's a shame that subsequent volumes in the series deteriorated in terms of quality (both on the animation and story telling side). I really must revisit these films.
