It is on the Best Buy site already, but you have to search for it by typing in
Lucertola con la pelle di donna, Una...the English title will not work.

Hey, just picked up my copy today at a store in town and watched it this evening. Great film, but hey, that's pretty much a given.

As far as the disc itself goes, framing issues aside (whatever the aspect ratio should be), I thought the print looked pretty great. My TV is a 65" Widescreen and the clarity and color was really quite nice. There a few trouble spots, with heavy print damage, which are in fact very distracting, but overall the print is very pleasing. If its cropped, that does really suck; but I'll say that I never felt like the compositions ever really seemed that off. Other than the occasional sloppy camera placement, which is par for the course with Fulci, things looked nicely framed.

Thumbs up also for the 5.1 soundtrack. Morricone's trippy score sounds great and the ambient sound effects all feel appropriately placed. A very enveloping mix.

I'd say if you've never seen it, or only seen lousy bootlegs, you owe it to yourself to at leats rent it. I'm happy having paid $23.00 for it. It was worth the money, IMHO.

    So, that's my two cents.

I was under the impression that the 5.1 soundtrack was only for the cut version of the film, which is in Widescreen and appears to be perfectly acceptable as far as picture quality goes. The issue is that the uncut version is from a dodgy tape source. Did they really take the audio from a beta master and put it to 5.1?

Yeah, the 5.1 is only for the cut "Schizoid" version, however, its in 1.85:1

There's been so much consternation over the films true aspect ratio, whether it really is 1.85:1 or if it was actually shot in scope 2.35:1, I thought I'd mention the framing. I know the main "issue" is about the full-frame Beta master uncut print, however I didn't realize the aspect ratio debate had come to an absolute resolution. Some people might not find this widescreen transfer "perfectly acceptable", Andrew, seeing as how some people think its cropped down from its actual scope.

What is the difference between the cut and uncut versions? I know that Schizoid is supposed to have a longer running time.

I've never seen the movie only heard about it.
From what I've heard, the things that were cut are some gore scenes, something nasty with dogs (please if you know more don't spoil the fun.I want to see for myself!) and some erotic scenes."Only" a few minutes.

I was a bit hesitant about buying this one initially, but after reading some more positive opinions I'll definitely gonna get this!

If you read this thread at all, you'd know I'm more than a bit sarcastic with regards to Shriek Show. I understand the debate, no issues there. You just took a talk about 1.33 vs. 1.85 and changed it to 1.85 vs. 2.35, which was slightly confusing.

Believe me, I've read the thread (and others) and know that you're sarcastic about Shriek Show... and more than a little zealous about this movie. I think the name of the thread is "At Last!!Lizard In A Woman's Skin being released Feb.8 2005!!" - so I don't think I changed the subject of the discussion either; especially seeing as how RyanPC had, just a few posts before, mentioned the widescreen version being cropped. Just thought I'd chime in with my thoughts on the disc, since few others had. Sorry you got confused. :p

well aren't some complaining that the widescreen version is cropped from 2.35 to 1.85? if so, AIP stated back in their original press release that it's 1.85....
