According to Absurd the definitive release date is next week, the 14th.
Looking forward to this!!
Got it in the mail!
I will check it out soon...
First impressions are good.
Picture and audio are fine.Perhaps even great regarding this is a very obscure title in the first place. The title sequences are a bit speckly but that's all.
There are two audio tracks:Italian and English. No English subs for the italian track.
Not to worry, the movie plays best in English: Donald Pleasance does his own dubbing.
I popped it in my DVDRom player and there the picture looked pretty grainy.Nothing of that on my TV.
I will watch it soon and write one of those mini reviews I'm famous for
Looking forward to it
Just by accident I found this review:
It's a nice and thorough review of this movie. Have to watch it again soon.
Damn Hugo there is no love for Euro films here.
Anyway this movie is fucking badass! I love it too & the dvd is quite nice!
Oh there's still love for Euro films. There's a few active threads at the moment. Just not so many Giallo related. But that's probably because there aren't any noteworthy Giallo releases at the moment (apart from Four Flies..).
I don't think people aren't interested. For most people it's a region thing. This is a Region 2 release.
Well, I'm happy the movie is not lost:
Pity it's only in Italian. But who knows. Will keep you updated (as usual )
Euro horror and giallo are my favorite...I'm just still new here and don't have much to say...plus I am dead broke, so my buying habits have severly been affected...
But I do read all the stuff and appreciate the updates!!
great news! I vaguely remember this film from my teenage years. The only things that kept in my mind were Donald Pleasence and a pair of scissors. Definitely I'll grab the copy!
No DVD of the English version yet, but I found it on youtube as Too Beautiful to Die. Quality is fine. Dunno where the English dub comes from. Perhaps a fandub?
The Japanese tape of TOO BEAUTIFUL TO DIE was in English.
Image looks as it was ripped from DVD. The sound could be cleaned up and added to the rip.
Watched it, liked it. Pretty predictable, but fun. Some stylish scenes which reminded me of Lamberto Bava's Gialli and Soavi's Stagefright.
And yes, since it's a Franco Ferrini scripted movie, there's a great "through the glass window" scene as well (I was waiting for it )
Would definitely buy this on DVD. Recommended!
