Deadly Blessing. The ending of Serpent & the Rainbow ruined everything for me. Started off strong.

You speak the truth...probably Craven's only great film after making NOES in my eyes.

I like BLESSING (it's long overdue for a DVD release),but I think SERPENT is the stronger film,it's more mature.

Serpent by a large margin over Blessing, but I'm starting to believe Serpent is not one of Craven's stronger films.

Blessing is a disaster. Serpent at least has a lot of visual spectacle and great ghoulish imagery to make it worth engaging with. But it needs a hefty re-write.

Blessing. I find it to be one of Craven's best.

Serpent was strong for the first half... and then it plummeted to schlock. Schlock is fine, but please don't get me invested in a film through other means and start treading Shocker territory of ridiculousness.

The nicest thing I can say about Deadly Blessing is that it is not a taxing watch. And that I still admire Craven afterward in spite of how void the screen is of anything that would speak to his talent, therefore saddling him with a reputation he doesn't deserve. Craven knows how to grab a viewer. And there's nothing here that does that.

Deadly Blessing is one of Craven's best films. I like Serpent as well, but Deadly Blessing was a great little horror film. There a quite a few Amish in the area that I live in so this kinda hit home for me.

Buddy, intervention time: I love Wes Craven. I don't like how often he gets panned either... but how many great films do you think he actually directed?
