It's been a long, long time since I saw It's Alive, but since The Baby holds such a special place in my heart, I don't really know if it can top that. If I see It's Alive again soon and change my vote I'll post here, I guess.
It's Alive is a deep and true love of mine. The Baby is good, but not nearly that good.
After having seen both recently, I can easily say I vote for It's Alive. Cohen is a master.
it's alive easily
Nice to see the love for It's Alive. I just bought it last week (blind buy) and was hoping it wasn't going to be crappy. At least I have hope now. Oh well, it was only $5 anyway.
I went for the Baby only casue of the great sick 70's twist ending.
Strongly agree! Larry Cohen is one of the best!
I guess I get why these were paired up but, wow, they couldn't be anymore different.
I voted for The Baby because it's exactly the kind of post-John Waters weird that makes the 70's so endearing. Not really a horror film either, until the last 8 minutes.
I need to rewatch It's Alive to rekindle my personal investment in it. But, frankly, I tend to prefer Cohen's 80's aesthetic. I may be the only person alive who adores Wicked Stepmother for the music and cheesy Barbara Carrere Walks Into a Room with Airblown Hair and Makes All the Men Pause scenes. Hence why Island of the Alive has always been my favorite film of the franchise.
