My less favorite Romero sequel versus a remake of a classic. Which one has more bite?
I love Day. Love it!
Day of the Dead easily.
DAY OF THE DEAD. No contest.
Day Of The Dead fucking rocks. I don't understand why some people don't like it. It easily has the best gore/FX work of any zombie film out there.
NOTLD 90 is one of the better remakes out there...but i doesnt hold a candle to Day Of The Dead.
Well since I enjoy Day Of The Dead more than the original Night Of The Living Dead I'd probably have to go for that, but I haven't seen the remake of "Night" since I was a wee little lad so I'll refrain from voting for now. I remember enjoying the remake quite a bit so I really don't know. Hopefully I'll have a chance to revisit it soon.
Day of the Dead is my favorite Romero zombie pic. The remake of Night was ok.
day all the way but night remake is also cool i wish they would release it unrated with all the gore back intact
Day, but only by a hair. Not because I like it more than Night '90, rather because I dislike it a little less.
Day of the Dead easily. It's the best of Romero's zombie films, and while I'm a fan of Savini's NOTLD remake, Day is far superior.
I take the DAY over the NIGHT in this case with no hesitation
Day Of The Dead for me too, however I think Savini did a fairly decent job on the Night 1990 remake. The F/X of Day are the star of the show though, along with Bub.
Not. Even. Close.
Day of the Dead
Love Day to bits. Saw the NOTLD remake many years ago and never felt the need to revisit it.
Day of the Dead, just because it's not quite as bad as Night 90.
The best gore/FX work in the world can't save a bad film, especially in the case of Day (IMO). A bunch of stereotypical testoterone-filled goons, and a boring female protagonist, with nothing better to do than scream obscenities at one another and smoke dope/drink/fight, while Dr Frankenstein tries to tame a ghoul, all happening at a snail's pace......Jesus! Did Romero steal this idea from John Russo?
Despite all the things listed above, I like Day for sentimental reasons (got to see it at the Drive In when I was 7), and I'm very fond of the score, and the gore is, most definitely, the best of the trilogy.
Night 90 on the other hand is even worse. I hate Paul McCulough's key-tar score (except for the opening bit during the moon shot), and I can't stand Judy Rose running around screaming for half the film. And what's with all the hammering footage? If only someone would put together a fan edit with the temp score from the workprint, less Judy Rose, along with the unrated gore shots reinserted, that would make the film much better.
Day might not be the most popular, but it's one of my favorite Dead movies. I never get tired of watching this movie.
My words exactly. I went with Day of the Dead. One of my favorites of all time.
DAY OF THE DEAD,in a walk.
