Communion, I thought it was a decent adaptation of the book. I had indeed read the book way back when it first came out in hardcover, long before the film was even a thought. I'm not saying I really fully believe his story, but it creeped me out back then.
i have them both and i thought fire in the sky was waaaaaay better. it's actually one of the only alien movies that genuinely scared the shit out of me. i can remember being really scared during the alien parts when i first saw it. plus i like stuff thats close to home and i've been to snowflake, arizona which is where the abduction supposedly took place. communion was really boring for me and i can't believr these flicks are almost tied at this point.
Both films are quite interesting, but Fire in the Sky is also intensely unnerving. I remember being so creeped out by it when I saw it theatrically. It gets my vote.
Fire in the Sky creeped me out so much as a kid! And still does a bit actually. Communion I don't remember liking as much.
Fire In the Sky. I have a friend that was so obsessed with that story that she actually got Travis Walton's number and called him.... I can't remember what happened, i'll have to ask her again.
Fire in the Sky scared the crap out of me years ago, but I dunno how well it'd hold up now. I haven't seen all of Communion, but I've read the book. The most interesting part about the movie for me was that I saw it when I was about 15 at a cabin party. Someone had it on a VHS tape, it got put on, I saw the part where Walken's in the bedroom and the lights start going crazy, then the alien peeks around the doorway. A half hour after that, I had to walk for about an hour through wooded roads with two other people and no flashlights. So yeah, as much as that creeped the hell out of me to no end, it wasn't all necessarily due to the movie.
Communion was hella scary, till you saw the Aliens in the end...then it was just funny. I went with fire in the sky cuz the effects were better. Communion does score some points back due to the sample of it in a Skinny Puppy song though. Cuz if Ohgr says somethings cool, it must be.
