That's my problem with it, I didn't find it very entertaining. The whole premise was a bit lame.

Gotta agree here. I like a lot of garbage when it comes to horror, but it has to entertain. Maximum Overdrive was not my bag.

Does anyone have any specifics whatsoever to support their argument? Because, I in fact do. I thought the bridge scene in the beginning was disturbing. In a good way. I thought the visuals of the green sky were captivating and correlated exquisitely with that evil-faced truck. And that AC/DC montage scene of the kid biking through the neighborhoods of people (and animals) having been killed already was almost soul-crushing. For such a short moment. This may not be a well-mounted movie in terms of character but the movie definitely gets how to plug into that 80's excess and make something at least moderately dark on the shoestring.

Guys: there is a touch more to Maximum Overdrive than meets the eye. I'd rate it currently about a 5/10. But, remembering that this is horror and the 80's and that this is all anyone needs to check out a movie... I'd say this is not the movie worth fighting over. Anyone trying to call it lame will no doubt miss any point it may have had. It's not exactly trying to be hip, you know.
