lord of illusions
Lord of Illusions is probably the better movie, but I don't care because I like Bad Dreams much, much more.
I love Bad Dreams, but Lord of Illusions gets better every time I see it.
Lord of Illusions - it's from Barker and it shows that people are compiled shits.
Lord Of Illusions. Always and forever.
Lord Of Illusions. Bad Dreams was cool and it had Richard Lynch but LOI had Famke!
Had to go with LOI on this one...it went over the edge where BD was just a NOES wannabe, essentially.
Lord of Illusions for this guy!
"Lord of Illusions" but I've seen "Bad Dreams" more often. It's good, but not nearly as smart as the Barker film.
Bad Dreams was much better than I remembered it being, but it's not on the same level as Lord of Illusions, which is Barker's best film.
Lord of Illusions.
Bad Dreams. I really like Lord, but Bad Dreams is awesome in a terribly cheesy 80's kinda way.
I don't love either film but the black cop at the end of Bad Dreams summed up the movie when he shrugged his shoulders at the death of Dr. Berrisford. Lord of Illusions is the better film.
Lord Of Illusions fucking rules all. I absolutely love the worlds Barker conjures up. I haven't seen Bad Dreams and don't need to although I want to. It looks pretty neat, but there is no way in hell it could be better than Lord Of Illusions.
Now to wait for Mikie Bay to produce a remake of both in one. "Lord of Bad Dreams", probably. Which, incidentally, would be a title fitting Bay himself well enough.
I'm much due for a rewatch, of both. But Lords of Illusions is too big, too chunky, and clunky, not smooth, oddly-ass cast (almost none of the major players work), and a lot of the effects don't work so well. It's... pretty messy. But the ideas are interesting.
Bad Dreams is a lot shorter, and just gets right to business. There isn't a dull moment here. Sure it's nothing groundbreaking, script wise. But the rest is shockingly impressive. It's too short to have any flab on it. It's lean and very mean.
