sleepaway camp 2
I went with Sleepaway Camp 2, but in defense of 3, I think it is a really fun movie. Neither one, however, can compare to the classic original.
Not only would I take Sleepaway Camp 2 over Sleepaway Camp 3, but I would take it over Sleepaway Camp 1 as well.
I love them all, but my favorite in the series is Sleepaway Camp 2, followed by Sleepaway Camp 3. Pamela Springsteen is my favorite Angela by far.
2 all the way. 3 was fun but it had a couple of annoying characters and parts of plot that took me out of the movie a bit.
I was so depressed while watching the second one that I almost didn't watch the third. Sleepaway Camp II is mean-spirited, nonsensical, near-unwatchable drivel, apart from Springsteen's charming performance. It's just not a fun movie at all, and the point to having a slasher movie is to have fun. Otherwise, there's no point for a film in the genre to be made. Without a tongue-in-cheek knowingness that it's not meant to be taken seriously, a slasher movie offends. And the few enjoyable moments with this concept in mind are few and far between.
Thankfully, I did watch Teenage Wasteland, and was shocked at the jump in quality. It fixed every problem I had with II, and it was simply a fun movie.
2 was way better.
3 was so much better, and the kills were just one right after the other. So much cheese too!
Defenately sleepaway camp 2. Its got great kills, and its a shitload of 80s slasher fun, even if there are lots of intentional/unintenional laughs along the way. pamela springsteen is awesome. 3 is defenately fun also, but I just thought 2 overall was way better and had much better gore. i mean come on, the cabin at the end with all the dead bodeis sitting around in a circle? And the human BBQ? That is just awesome!
2 for me, but they may as well be the same film. Both tons of gory, cheesy fun.
That pretty much wraps up my feelings as well, but the inclusion of the Dead Milkmen in the soundtrack is what pushes 2 over 3.
"You'll Dance To Anything"
The last time I tried to watch 3 I had to turn it off in the middle because it was so bad.
2 all the way.
Neither sequel comes close to matching the quality of the original, but Unhappy Campers is much more entertaining than Teenage Wasteland, which is actually rather boring at times.
Teenage Wasteland. Don't really care for any of those movies, but part three is the least bad. At leat it's got some halfway interesting characters. Too bad they didn't add the deleted scenes back in on the DVD, it would make the movie about twice as good. But, of course they wouldn't do that.
Part 3 for Michael J. Pollard.
Pollard is SO WEIRD in his role.
Anyway, after watching both last week, I easily went with #2. #3 is decent but seemed so rushed.
When is Pollard not weird? I'm sure he was stoned for the shoot.
