Thanks for clearing that up. But again, it's horror season in September - I'm thinking this would have been more strategically placed during November and December, when Hollywood and the public care about "Good." movies.

Oh, I don't doubt it is a "lost" film, but a lost Polanski film still seemed a bit of a stretch. That extra background information definitely helps put that quote in perspective now, though.

Cannot wait for Beyond the Door. This is one of my earliest movie going experiences from my childhood...pretty much the first horror movie I ever saw. So many other great titles on that list as well! I am really excited to see Dracula's Great Love coming out under the extra sleazy Cemetery Girls title. I have that one sheet poster...I have always had a special fondness for this style of late 70s Euro Horror promotions...I remember hearing the radio ads for the movie when I was a kid...full of fake interviews with shocked viewers as they left the theater...screaming things like "I can't believe what those two girls did on that headstone!" Classic stuff!

Beyond the Door specs as reported by Fangoria:

The movie will be presented in a new 16x9-enhanced 1.85:1 transfer of the uncut European edition, accompanied by:

    • Audio commentary by Assonitis and Mondo Digital’s Nathaniel Thompson, moderated by Lee Christian
    • Audio commentary by Mills, filmmaker Scott Spiegel and film historian Darren Gross
    • Englishman in Italy interview featurette with co-star Richard Johnson
    • BEYOND THE DOOR, 35 Years Later featurette with Assonitis, Mills, Johnson and writer Alex Rebar

All of these look pretty cool, except maybe The Gleam (not a good time to mention the director being lauded as the next Shyamalan, when his latest movie just bombed), but for some reason THE KIDNAPPING OF THE PRESIDENT/DEATHROW GAMESHOW is the one that really got me excited. They just sound sooo bad that they just can't help but be awesome!

Think it's time to start working some overtime so I can afford these.

The two that are on my want list are Beyond The Door and Final Exam.

Loved Beyond The Door when I saw it at a local drive-in years ago. Final Exam is one of those slashers from the 80's that I simply missed seeing. I will buy this just to finally see it. No video store in our area has it for rent anymore.

According to that DVD Drive-In review posted above, the version of Satan's Slave on the new BCI double feature is heavily cut.

At least the Pan & Scan version in my old Rhino set is uncut, alas not widescreen.

Agreed. Right now that double feature disc is going for pretty cheap from Amazon resellers.
