I chose Price, when I think classic horror it's Vincent Price all the way. Also a sentimental fave for the Hilarious House Of Frightenstein.
House Of Wax and House On Haunted Hill are favorites, along with The Fly.
I also have Witchfinder General on order, can't wait.

I think I chose Vincent Price, although I may have clicked Jeffrey Combs (who would have been my 2nd choice, anyway).

And Brad Dourif gets a special nod, as well.

Some very talented gents on that list, including my three all time favorites.Still, looking at the overall arc of their careers,I will go with Peter Cushing, just edging out Vincent Price and Christopher Lee.Cushing was given
the chance to play more shaded, nuanced roles than Price usually was (Price was certainly capable of doing so,WITCHFINDER GENERAL for instance has not an ounce of camp in it),but Price was just so damned great at the BIG ,stylized parts that he was seldom given the opportunity to get away from it.Lee is the greatest living horror actor today (and where the hell is his Career Achievement Oscar, somethings wrong when Eminem has an Oscar and Christopher Lee dosen't !),but I think Cushings career avoided many of the misses that Lee had (though,I must confess,if you make THAT MANY films,it only figures that some won't exactly be gems). All of these gentlemen are superb actors, but I give the edge to Cushing because he was able to show a wider spectrum(from HAMLET to the original STAR WARS) and avoided involvement in a large number of disasters.

By the way, nice to see a mention of Christopher George,he was an underrated actor, and left us much too soon.

So many great names to choose from, and I have a lot of love for many of those guys from the greats that the general public know, (Boris and Bela) to the obscure that many people would say "Who???" (Dick Miller, Combs, Hess) but I would have to say I voted for Vincent Price.
I also just finished going through the recently released Vincent Price Scream collection and got to "relive" those classic AIP Midnite Movies, and knowing what a benevolent soul Price was, I think he truly deserves the title of king of gothic horror.

When once asked if he regreted not being the actor that "got the girl." Price responded: "I always got the girl; then I proceeded to strangle her."

I love Vincent Price. So much so that I even named my son "Vincent" after him.

I will go with Vincent Price, but even if he is not there I like Tom Atkin a lot.

Considering he's still working with big rolls today, Christopher Lee.

Vinnie is a close second, considering he worked basically up until he died.

I voted for Vincent Price because, to me, he is the quintessential choice for this sort of a poll.

HUGE props go out to Jeffrey Combs, Bela Legosi, Boris Karloff, both Chaneys, Donald Pleasence, Christopher George & John Saxon. That's a pretty solid list of my favorite actors in horror/exploitation films.

Well, in many of those cases, "favorite actor" is a much better choice of description than "best actor"... :D Including my selection.
