It was a tough one between My Bloody Valentine or Ginger Snaps.
In the end I went with My Bloody Valentine.

I haven't seen most of these movies but I went with Ginger Snaps.

Actually, THE BROOD was the film that got me hooked on Cronenberg.
That's why I chose it as my favorite.

You are asking me to pick between three of my all time favorite movies : Black Christmas, My Bloody Valentine, and Terror Train. I think there is a legitimate arguement for each one. I can't do it. I can't pick one over the others.

Shivers has to be my favourite one, but Black Christmas is a very close second.

My Bloody Valentine is the best slasher ever, not just Canadian. Hollis should be celebrated by the Canadians of the board and enshrined. I was thinking of making a statue of him in my backyard.

  11. There's alot of good movies on that list but my vote goes to Black Christmas...with Changling as a close second

Wow I am Canadian and I had forgotten how many great horror films were made here. Anyway my vote was for the ultra-creepy and stylish Black Christmas, it really had that argento-ish quality that a lot of American films tried to get but failed too.

He's by far my favorite character in the movie. TJ and Axel suck by comparison. Hollis is the man.

I've always thought Black Christmas was highly over rated. Cronenberg will always be the King of (Canadian) Horror Films and The Brood will probably remain his best Canadian film.

I recently purchased a copy of Black Christmas that is a Canadian exclusive VHS from back in the day, I took the pics but my dumbass sister has lost the cord to connect the digital camera to the computer, but when I get it up (...) I'll post it here. I know how guys like Rhett and WesReviews are Black Christmas nuts :) Too bad they wouldn't have been selling this before, I could have sent it to Critical Mass for them to put on the DVD.

As much as I wanted to go with Black Christmas, I went with The Changeling.

My choice is not on the list: Peter Carter's creepy and effective Rituals (1977), a Deliverance-style shocker with Hal Holbrook and Lawrence Dane, shot in Northern Ontario. This is one film that desperately needs an uncut DVD release (the previous US VHS release was the cut-for-TV version, and the Canadian VHS release is now next-to-impossible to find).
