I really don't understand the love for Intruder. It just felt too amateurish.

I hear ya. I like Intruder, it had a bunch of good elements to it, I love the grocery store idea, but it could have been done just a bit better.

Had to go with The Prowler but I love nearly every movie on that list. Tough choice.

Child's Play. I think Chucky deserves to be remembered as one of the great slashers of the 80s/early 90s and not for Seed.

Another opinion here that this was a VERY tough vote, as many on that list are among my all-time favorites. However, I am going with Madman. I absolutely love that movie and think that it has some of the best atmosphere among all of the slashers and a fantastic intimidating killer. Not to mention the greatest theme song ever!

Terror Train. I always have fun watching it. Years ago, I used to pop in my trusty VHS all the time!

THE PROWLER is one of my favorites. It's solidly acted, well scored and has some of Tom Savini's best effects.Add to that,it wasn't put out by a major studio,so it didn't have it's graphic mayhem blunted by studio interference.

Hard to choose. Slasher films don't tend to truly stand out to me. To be a success they have to follow a formula, and if they do that, then they all tend to be much of a muchness.

I went for My Bloody Valentine, but it really could have been any here. Thumbs up to Cheerleader Camp though. Perhaps not as sleazy as it could/should have been, but it's fun enough.

    Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers

A bad, but funny slasher with a homicidal do-gooder and plenty of gore. I love the in-jokes at F13th, ANOES and TCM.

I love MADMAN, it's just a cool little backwoods boogeyman film that managed to breathe new life into an already tired (even in the eighties) genre. The acting isn't great and it's a little corny, but it's creepy, gory ,and suspenseful. I also liked the following:
    THE BURNING
    MANIAC
SLEEPAWAY CAMP (who wears short shorts ?)
    HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW
    INTRUDER
    THE PROWLER
MY BLOODY VALENTINE ( I'd like it a lot more if I could see an uncut version)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME (wish to hell they would release a dvd with the original theme music, not the ROLLER BOOGIE soundtrack on the dvd that's out now)
