After recently revisiting both the Howling and American Werewolf in London. I was just interested in knowing, what do you feel is the best werewolf movie ever made.

Tough - but I went The Wolf Man.

Honorable mention to Werewolf of London and American Werewolf in London.

    The Company Of Wolves

I saw this movie several years ago and it really made an impact on me. Its a haunting gem of a movie that I think should have gotten a lot more recognition than it had.

honorable mentions go to An American Werewolf In London and Silver Bullet

and my vote for "favorite non-scary Werewolf movie" goes to Teen Wolf! :glasses:

I went with Ginger Snaps because that movie endlessly amused me. I also liked Dog Soldiers and both American Werewolf movies.

The worst in the list is Wolf. I will never recover from the crap werewolf makeup in that one. Teen Wolf had better effects. (Note, I love Teen Wolf, just saying the makeup wasn't state of the art and STILL better than Wolf.**

GINGER SNAPS is most definitely the best if you ask me. I used to think THE HOWLING was the best, but I've grown to love GINGER SNAPS even more. Fantastic film to put it lightly!

Anyways, here are my top 5 favorite werewolf flicks:

    1: Ginger Snaps
    2: The Howling
    3: Dog Soldiers
    4: Silver Bullet
5: Bad Moon/An American Werewolf in London (tie)

I haven't seen too many werewolf movies but here is how I would rate the ones I have.

    1. An American Werewolf in London
    2. The Howling
    3. Silver Bullet

I really want to see Ginger Snaps and Dog Soldiers now.

AWIL for me. Too bad Dog Soldiers didn't have a transformation sequence though, would have gotten my vote.

I voted for American Werewolf In London.

 Yeah, Howling II is a classic! ;)

I went with The Howling, since the movie overall IMO is excellent. Close behind it is Ginger Snaps and American Werewolf in London. I also enjoyed Wolfen, Teen Wolf, AND Howling II-- I'd pick up the DVD in a heartbeat. :)

I went with The Howling, even though American Werewolf has better transformation scenes.

WOLFEN, while excellent, is actually not a werewolf film, so its absence is a good thing.

I just bought the Howling SE and rewatched it for the first time in years. It is a damn good film, but the transformations are a bit dated whereas American Werewolf still stands up to time! American Werewolf in London is definitely my all time fav. I also, very much enjoyed Dog Soldiers and Ginger Snaps. The old Oliver Reed Hammer film was beautiful, but a bit slow and boring, and The Wolfman with Chaney holds good childhood memories!

I'm not sure if i would consider Brotherhood of the Wolf to be a werewolf movie either.

  20. For me it is pretty much a three way tie between The Howling, Ginger Snaps and An American Werewolf In London. I love them all!

But the winner is... The Howling! I just love Eddie Quist and the gang! Fantastic movie! :D
