    $11.99 CND on Amazon.ca

Comes to about $16 shipped to the US. I have the Critical Mass DVD, but never upgraded to the blu-ray, so I went ahead and ordered.

Not sure if this is the best place to discuss this, but this thread is on the front page so why not.

Anyway, I was watching Black Christmas last night like I normally do, and there's something I've been wondering for a while. The piano piece Peter plays. Does he completely blow it, or nail it? What he plays is very dissonant, and I know some complex pieces are written that way. Or, he's so stressed out from everything, he just totally flubs it.

Any music majors wanna clue me in?

Had a Bob Clark Christmas double feature last night with A Christmas Story and then Black Christmas and noticed how they end both movies the exact same way. I figure it has probably already been mentioned somewhere here but the camera pulls back from someone inside, then to outside as it gets further from the house, and then it stops and the credits roll with the image still moving. The only difference is that in one you go from a happy kid to this and then in the other you go from a dead girl to this.

btw, thanks for the heads up on the lower price!

I thought it was always pretty clear from the facial expressions in the scene (and the scenes that follow) that he totally flubbed it. He was just playing it way too "forcefully" and not fluid, so it all came out sounding wrong.

Or, at least that's the way I've always viewed it...

Received mine today from Canada. The $11.99 price must have been a one day sale for Christmas, because the next day it shot right back up to the $20s+.

Seeing it online, I thought the slipcover with the telephone and broken bulbs was a little bland, but in hand it is really elegantly done (and the artwork on the actual blu-ray case is terrific).

Can't wait to dig in to this. I didn't watch this in December this year (or many Christmas movies at all) since it didn't snow until after Christmas. But now that the ground is covered with snow and the Christmas tree is still up, it's time to indulge. I've seen this movie 100x and I'll probably see it 100x more before I die, so who needs December anyway?

Little did I know that Scream Factory would be releasing the film on Blu-ray just a year later. Glad I was wrong.

Glad I waited on that Canadian one. BC is not my favorite slasher but if I'm gonna own it, best to have the best version(s) available.

Strange that they are including the critical mass transfer on disc two.

I recall that transfer being sharper and a bit clearer less grain.

Definitely looks like a (small) step up. I was hoping for a little more improvement in PQ, but I think I'll be satisfied knowing this is the best the film will probably ever look.

Yeah it's a really soft film anyway, but it has more natural-looking grain structure based on those caps. I feel like the difference will really be felt in motion.

It looks very good to me. Of course it is still grainy but the digital noise and blocking have been reduced.

Anyone upgrading their normal dvd or vhs of Black Christmas to blu when released in a week or two and want to trade???? :D

Watched it last night for the first time in ages. I had forgotten a lot about it. Caught it on my roku channel "Horror Hall" with sporadic advertisements and vhs quality picture and sound. Not that there's anything wrong with that......but I feel it's necessary to own.
