The first one is easily the best in my opinion. The other 3 films are fun cheesefests. The ship models in one of the sequels just looks so horrendously fake that you gotta love it! :eek1:

I saw the second one recently and I don't think it had a lot of old footage in it at all. It's the one where the knights attack a whole village full of people during the anniversary of the knights' blinding. Maybe some of the flashback stuff but that's only a very small part of the movie. You might be thinking of the third film, I don't know.
That's one I haven't seen in years but the isolated ship setting makes it a pretty good candidate for a lot of old footage.

you are correct. the 4th blind dead was featured in a Brentwood pack as well. That one is titled "Prey for Death."

Thanks to all of you who have finally piped-up with negative comments! I'm reconsidering this purchase, which is more expensive than it needs to be anyway. I need to stop these overpriced blind buys!!!

The movies in this set sound like they might be your typical Eurozombie flicks, along the lines of LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE. Would this be a correct assumption?

I actually liked Let Sleeping Corpses Lie. The Blind Dead movies just didn't do it for me. Now, I love atmosphere, but just having a slow pace and a weak script alone atmosphere does not make. The only thing I liked about the films were their very short torture scenes, and the very few scenes of the dead trotting about in slow mo.

I'm not super excited about the new set. I may give it a shot if I can get it cheap enough, to see the unedited part 2, and see whether the series got any better.

No, I can tell you're quite curious about this though. Do yourself a huge favor if you just won't let this go, get this:

On these are two of the four Templar Knight(Blind Dead) movies. You'll watch the film a nd thank me for sparing you all the money you would have dumped into one hell of a blind buy.
Here's more info one this set. Hey some of these are actually alright:

I enjoy part 2--it seems to move a little faster than the first one, though some of the atmosphere is sacrificed. I think it would be a good one for those who thought the first one was a little too slow.

    I love the films, but I wouldn't recommend a blind buy--the Templars aren't everybody's cup of tea.

Thanks for the insight, everyone. I think I'll hold off buying it and see if I can rent them online first. That's 100 big ones I can spend elsewhere!!! Woo-hoo!!!

This box set seems like overkill for movies that are good but not that good or important. The set should be (close to) barebones and retail for about $40. Or add a documentary and retail for $50.

Jesus, I misread the title of the post and thought it said Blind Date:Box Set, I was wondering what website I had stumbled onto. Roger Lodge is the Anti-Christ!!

Holy jumpin' Christ on a rusty crutch, that box looks awesome. if the 90+ dollar range is the MSRP, I'd see it going for a considerable amount less at large retailers like Best Buy. Either way, D'Ossorio rocks, and when it streets, that biatch is mine!

Ehh, I'm not a fan of that packaging. In the end it really means nothing to me though.
