Not it hasn't. Wrong Stage Fright. That's the Italian Owl Head 1987 slasher.
This is Nightmares/Stage Fright, about a crazy Australian actress.

I don't think that should detour anyone if they really want to upgrade. It was on sale for like $1.50.

Yeah, I don't see any big deal there. The DVD has been out for almost 8 years anyway. I bought it when it first came out, and I won't hesitate upgrading to a better version.

Great news, surprising, too, since I thought VCI had Bloody Birthday all locked up. I'm a fan of both slashers, especially Nightmares. The trailer on their site with a teaser for Next of Kin really has me wanting that one to show up. Kin's top ten slasher material for me, definitely the most underrated slasher out there, and there are a lot of them!

Don't get me wrong guys,if you snagged the VCI BIRTHDAY disc at that low price, great ! It's just that I have never owned it,so there was no question of an upgrade for me.A full remastering sounds like the time for me to finally pick this title up so I look forward to the Severen release.

ok but I'd rather they release something like New Year's Evil, Mortuary, or a number of other slashers that haven't gotten the silver disc treatment... Bloody Birthday is fun but I don't see myself ponying up for another release though that cover is cool! Nightmares is one I have on VHS and I just couldn't get into it - maybe having a cleaned up print would change my perception on it though...

I've never seen this one, though my GF mentions it from time to time (I believe she showed it at a childhood b-day party). I'll try to catch it on TCM Underground later this month.

I wish it was coming to blu ray too!I don't understand the point of having the movie remastered in HD and don't having it on blu ray???The last dvd i purchase was Dark Night Of The Scarecrow,so for me to buy a dvd it's gotta be a very rare hard to find for years movie, like ...Bloody Birthday!!God dammit:mad:

The transfer looks beautiful, but unless they do a blu-ray I don't think I can buy it.

I already own the previous DVD, and even though this looks like a major improvement, it is really hard for me to justify upgrading a DVD to another DVD anymore.

Heck yes!! My favorite of the killer kid flicks! Never did pick up the old DVD, so will gladly upgrade my VHS to Severin's release. And will also upgrade my VHS of The Baby!

That´s just evil, teasing us with a beautyful clip in HD and then only releasing it on DVD :(

A beautyful HD clip may not mean good materials for Blu-Ray.

Well from the look of that sample, they have done an amazing job making the new HD transfer from the 35mm source.

And a transfer gotta be in a truly horrible shape to not gain a boost on Blu-Ray.

Come on Severin! If you can put Screwballs onto blu-ray, you can do Bloody Birthday!
